Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

"and a cold draft beer
good God, almighty which way do I steer?
For my, Cheeseburger in Paradise............."

Paper #1 has a draft!!!!!!!!!Woo HOO! Much easier to write now than it was back in the stoneage when I went to college last time! I think I will kiss my computer each time I have to edit as well.

My daughter tried all of her duds on tonight as well.........then informed me there was only 12 days until we leave. I acted like I did not know........like I am not counting down the minutes until I have no work to do and no phone to answer.

The biggest decission I will have to make is "HOW MANY" drinks of the day I should have before my afternoon nap by the goofy pool!

Night,

Missy

Hello all,, Happy labor day!!! Although that name always puzzled me. "Labor day", yet everyone wants the day off, maybe it should have been called anti-labor day. But living in a country where we PARK in the DRIVEWAY and DRIVE on the PARKWAY I guess it makes sense. "Oh" I was suppose to be talking about my cabin, I have one cabin and I am travelling with my friend his DW,DD and DS so there are a total of 2 cabin, My DW and DS will be with me. This will be my friends first cruise so I really have to make them enjoy it so that they may cruise again. I love to laugh and see smiles on peoples faces at all times, life is to short to be mad or upset, I never let anything remove my smile from my face. I can't wait to meet everyone and I hope I win a free cruise for being the only African American on the Disney Magic (gotta laugh at that) but don't take it serious. My DS birthday is 9/18/05 he will be 5, second birthday on a cruise. Just back from a Metro Stars soccer game ( baseball and football are my true loves though) trying to expand my horizons. So for now I say good night to all, And may you all live to be one hundred and me one hundred minus a day, so i'll never have to know that nice people like you'll have passed away.
Thanks a Magic you'll,
or at the very least a million.
Deege24.

Deege, Where are you from? and what is your real name?

Lisa, We are leaving our kids on the ship.....eekkkk! So if we don't come back someone needs to make sure they are alright. It is kindof freaky but I'm sure it will be fine. We will just give ourselves plenty of time to be back/early. I talked with the kids clubs and they said it is common and I know the kids will be fine (6 and 9). Just don't want to miss the boat :earseek: wouldn't that be the worst possible thing! I am really looking forward to the day sail. My mom did it and she said it was the best day of their cruise. They will either take you where you want to go or take you to their favorite spots. Either way it is your day to do with what you will.

Deege, what a good DISer you are... responding to my post about how many cabins you have! Good DISer! :)

I was at a vow renewal for my friend, in whose wedding I was maid of honor in January. It was in Fort Wayne, Indiana (hi Brad!) so we drove a total of about 7 hours today (there and back). Glad to be home.

I don't have much else to report. I will be away from my computer most of the day tomorrow because we have our annual family reunion we affectionately call "Chicken Day". We all get together (tomorrow 99 of us), make chicken and corn on the cob on the grill, do a "slip and slide", play games, do a high ropes course (we have this at a kids' camp in my hometown), etc. It's a good time.

I hope to get our docs mid to late next week when my TA returns home from his Alaskan vacation.

Jen, I think it's fine that you're leaving your kids on the boat. I second Sue's concern that you leave your DKids enough air to breathe, however. :rotfl:

Okay, off to bed. Night all!

Hello once again all, But first this is to Jenny That corn and chicken sounds good. All 99 of you'll may be 100 of you'll (or should I say us) because I just may sneak in for some of that food. So if you do a head count and get one hundred it will be me. And to Jen and Mike I just love the way you guys have organized this board and I mean that from the bottom of my heart speaking as Deege24 or David, my DW name is Gail and my DS is Lovell. Really going to shower and to bed now. Keep :)ing all.

Nite all
David.

David (aka Deege) you made me laugh out loud being the only African American family on board. That is funny stuff. Not a lot of diversity on DCL is there?

If you are crashing Jenny's "chicken day" I have a feeling that you will be noticed in that enviroment as well! :rotfl2: Family Reunion food, what a nice thought to start my day as a food addict..... :teeth: have fun Jenny, should be the perfect weather today.

Gotta run,

Missy

Deege, Thanks for the kind words. As far as Mike goes, I'm not sure anyone knows that he really exists, so he gets no credit. The credit goes to Jenny (donaldsfgal) she has done a ton!! It is a team effort as this is the greatest bunch of FFCers ever....well the only bunch of FFCers ever but the greatest bunch of DISers ever.
Jenny Have a great "chicken day" Do you do the chicken dance?

HI all! Part of my company just left. Actually, only my frined Jim is still here and we've been friends since 8th grade, so he sure isn't like company. I think DD is bossing him around right now. We are hoping to go to the pool at noon. Got rained out yesterday. My food went over big time, Jenny. It was so delicious. We had 8 adults, 2 4yo's, 2 2yo's and a new born. Yes, my house was trashed, but it felt GOOD! Kids playing, people eating and having fun and DH was able to join us. He's always iffy if it isn't one of his RDO's (regular day off) b/c he can get called out. So...a success. The only down side -- I ATE TOO MUCH. Tonight or tomorrow I'll start unzipping suitcases, making piles, etc. So darned excited.

Seems like everyone is having a good Labor Day. Deege/David, how'd you get the "Deege" nickname, if that is waht it is? Do tell.

:flower1:

Well headed out to do some more shopping   tomorrow looks like a cook out at DM of Ribs and Chicken YUMM!!! I need to come up with a VERY GOOD dessert....Sounds like everyone has had some great plans this weekend :cloud9:
Still trying to come up with a drink to mix while on board??? :drinking1
Sounds like we're going to have such a FUN group...I just can't wait :bounce:
An-tic-a-pa-tion...I'm worse than the kids or DGS :hyper:

Have a Great Weekend everyone :grouphug:

Happy Sunday!!!!!!

Our ship is back home!!! (well, not anymore....it's cruising the Caribbean.) But it's back to the Atlantic!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

12 / 13 MORE DAYS!!!

(Jenny, I included you!) :goodvibes

We hit a good sale Friday night at Old Navy. Got 2 pairs of shorts and 4 tops for $25!!!! I love Old Navy! So I think I'm cool on clothes now for the cruise. YAYYY!!! :cool1:

Yesterday we had a birthday party for a couple of friends...one had a birthday last week, and the other one's is this week. So I made a cake and decorated it!! I don't do that very often, but I have all of the tips and tools like I'm a pro or something... :rotfl2: It didn't turn out too great, but not too horrible either. (wish I would have gotten a picture of it.)

Today, my family is getting together for one last summer barbecue. Should be fun. I get to see my beautiful neices!! :cheer2:

And tomorrow I am CLEANING HOUSE!!!! I am just in the mood to do a really thorough deep cleaning before vacation so that we can come home after vacation to a nice clean house and no worries.

Anyway, I need to get ready to go.
Talk to you later!

Wow! It is really quite today. Hope you all are having fun.
I am packing the kids. I am using those 2.5 gallon zip lock bags. Boy they really do save room when you roll the air out of them. I am a little concerned over wrinkles. I hear they don't wrinkle but it is hard to believe. Anyone have first hand experience with it?

Jen, use the downy wrinkle release spray and then fold nicely and pack away. i did this last year and it really helped. I also sent away mine and DH dressy atire to be ironed only the night we arrived. We had all back by afternoon on Sunday. Ready for the week with no ironing. It was awesome. This year I am taking a different approach w/ packing but I will still send suit/dresses etc to be ironed on the first night. Make sure you bring extra hangers too. I packed DS dresses, Shirts etc on the hangers so all I had to do was take out of the suitcase and hang up. Hope this helps.

Hello again all,
First and foremost I want to say hello to Missyoh8, I'm gald to read that you got a good laugh, laughter is good for the mind, body and soul.
And to TeaforWendy the nick name Deege just came out of nowhere from one of my friends at a football game one day. Also being called DJ (David Jones) my friend tried calling me with a mouth full of food and all he could get out was Deege between chokes and the name Deege stuck ( but the food didn't, but that's another story). Maybe it should be spelled Deeje but someone spelled it Deege and thats the way it remained.
Jenny(Donaldsfgal) I owe you some credit for the upkeep of this board, thanks to Jen (Jennat) for informing me about that, you two have done and are doing a great job. And credit to all the rest of us for doing our part.
I'm doing all this talk and I don't even know what FFC'ers ( guess,, First officers ) and DIS'ers (guess,, disney cruisers) mean. Someone please tell me exactly what they mean.
Last but not least, in fact it may be the most important relates to the man who may not exist to most (so i've been told). Mike :badpc: ,,, I know you are doing all the hard and dirty work here and don't even ask for any praise, all us MEN are like that and we must stick together even when we know it's not true.
Keep up the good work Mike,,, I mean Jan and Jenny!!!!!

David (AKA) Deege!!

David, you're one funny fellow! FFC means Flip Floppin' Castaways - the name we gave to our group. DIS just means the DIS boards, what we are communicating on. If you participate on the DIS boards, you're a DISer. You haven't been DISsed, you're just a DISer. :) You're welcome for the upkeep of the board. I think we all upkeep it; some of us are just more anal than others and are doing signs, websites, etc.

Chicken day was good. Somehow only had 76 people, but we still managed to eat all the food. Where's the smilie that's stuffing his face?

Wendy, I'm glad your food preparation and hospitality services went well this weekend!

My grandparents, and two aunts and uncles are going on an Alaskan cruise the week we cruise. My aunt requested I make a door sign for my grandparents' cabin door, so I will work on that this weekend. THis is the last of the 50 states they have to visit. Pretty cool, huh?

Well, enjoy Labor Day Eve everyone! :)

Hi everyone! We are having a campout in our backyard also, we try to do it as often as we can. Our vacation starts in 11 days because we are leaving Thursday night to stay at the airport so we don't have to travel two hours to the airport in the morning. I do hope that after the cruise everyone comes back to our site and informs us that they have returned home safely. I am starting to pack slowly but I still need my dress hemmed up and I still need to find my pillowcases to be signed. They are lost somewhere in the house! I moved alot of stuff in the last couple of weeks because of Jorge coming. I too did alot of house cleaning so I will feel good when we return. Well I need to help get a fire started, see you later.

Lorra :wave2:

Hello! Christal I wish some of that cleaning spirit would float my way! I have to get on task tomorrow and deep clean my house. I did manage to clean (staighten-up) my garage and wash mine and dh's truck today. It was soooo hot I thought I'd never finish. I'm sure glad that he is about to take the car washing duties back. Since we had used his truck to go to the beach all summer, I thought maybe I should get a little of the sand out of it before he gets back. ;) Oh well, I guess I'd better get BUSY!

OH NO GUYS! I'm sorry to tell you this but there looks to be a tropical depression starting and the website said that it has an attitude. I wasn't afraid at all until I heard it's name, Nate. I have a Nate at home and he is an attitude so please be aware of this in the coming days.

Jen, It is supposed to be the latter part of this week! I have a lot to get done in a few days but I work best under pressure. Ha! Ha! :rotfl: At least most of my packing is done. We are so looking forward to this cruise. He will prob be they guy laying by the pool in a parka. He says that he feels cold if the temp is less than 90!! He is really gonna feel cold at home, I keep the thermostat at 70. Maybe he will adjust before we leave. -Donna :rose:

Evening everyone!!!

Hope everyone is having a nice Labor Day weekend.

Just think, on Friday, it will be a week until we cruise. I can't believe it is this close. I can hardly wait!!!

Have a good night everyone,
Emily
