Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Hi guys. Still swamped and want to leave by 5pm today. DH and DD are already at Lake with SIL and her kids. She called and invited herself yesterday morning, but it's OK -- I love her kids and DD is so excited she woke up at 3am and came to our room to ask if it was time yet. She is such a sweet child. I'm going up tonight with BIL. I'm considering getting him drunk on the way up to pi** off SIL. But I won't....

It will be a hot one, but fun, I suspect. Hope you all are doing great.

56 days to go--can I lose 10-15 lbs in that time? Yikes. It really IS coming up quick. I found 2 rolling suitcases I liked but couldn't decide so I ordered both. One had free shipping and free return shipping, so why not?

I'll try to check back in before I leave, but if not, talk to you Monday. Have fun. W.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You guys gave me 2 LOL moments today........

1. writing on the scale the number you would like to see!! love it

2. getting BIL drunk on the way to the lake just to piss off (can you say that on DIS board :confused3 ) SIL (do it, do it, do it, picture me pounding my fists on the desk).

Have a great weekend all. Ours is quiet and hot. Going to a Crew game (professional soccer) game tomorrow night and that's it.

Thanks for the laughs,

Missy

Oh yea Emily we are going to Cedar Point the third week of August. We go during the week so it is less crowded, like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. My goal this year is to not whimp out on anything my kids want to go on. They say I scream so loud :scared1: it embarasses them, of course that makes me do it even more  .

The show I saw about Holiday World was on PBS and was something to do with theme parks that had been around for a very long time! You should look for it, especailly if you like history, it was really neat to hear all the old stories.

Update -- my DH called and told me and BIL to stop and get dinner on the way b/c they will have already eaten by the time we get there. So I have a plan -- "BIL, sit at the bar and have a drink or two while I run over to the store, there are some things I need to pick up. When I get back we can grab a bite here." :rotfl2:

He has zero self-control when unobserved by SIL.

Have a good one buddies!

Missy, even if the ride isn't scary, it's still fun to scream at the top of your lungs. Although now, my dad and I just laugh through the whole thing and then complain at the end that it wasn't long enough. They never make them long enough. Ride all the roller coasters at Cedar Point for me and when you get back tell me how they were.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I finally have a vehicle to drive. I'm so excited. See our car is a stick shift and I don't want to learn to drive stick, to many things for me to screw up, so I haven't driven in like 6 months, so...if you're in Alabama, look out I'm on the road again! :scared1: :rotfl:

Talk to everyone later tonight,
Emily

Wendy, I agree...do it. :rotfl2: You have had a busy, tiring week. You deserve some fun if you have to spend the weekend with SIL. I do feel kindof sorry for your brother ;) , mostly just for being married to her :rotfl:

I had a DIsney kind of day today.....well Cinderella kind of day anyway. Scrubbed my shower........I was kindof hoping for a Sleeping Beauty kind of day. There is always tomorrow!

I did find out that there are a lot of kids in Trenton's class in the hot seat right now. She runs a lot tougher ship. Makes me feel better. I did get an e-mail saying I should look into ADHD because he was fidgeting talking to the OT (about his hands/handwritng)....Here's where we need a smiley of my husband holding an out of control Jennifer back from killing the teacher :badpc: :teacher: . I swear, everyone I know has had that word thrown at them. These smilies are to goody to shoes :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
Have a great weekend everyone who is going away! Emily, take it slow and easy...slow and easy!

Well, it has been a busy day.. ::yes:: .working through it just to have a busy weekend. My DD wants to have a garage sale on Sept. 3rd so we only have about three weekends free to work on it. She has a lot of kid stuff that should go well some looks brand new :goodvibes

Emily I hear you on the headache man oh man I had a bad one took some relpax so it is going away :) My DH tells me it's from holding in the evil side of Tammy till Monday then WHOSH on the TA!!

I couldn't do cat 2 I think it only holds 5 we have 6 in our party, would love to though...looks wonderful ::yes::

Trisha I do hope your Pastor feels better soon. Our prayers are with him

Jen...you always come up with the best one's  :rotfl: between the scale, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty.. your just too funny. Hey everyone can you imagine Jen after she has a :drinking1 we'll all be rolling :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend for us that are staying and those of you lucky one's getting to leave :wave2:

Jen I hear you on the Teacher scene..I have went around a few blocks there myself :chat: :teeth: I could tell you some stories..

Well going to watch a movie with DH and DGS so...you guessed it we'll pop in a Disney movie for sure :bounce:

Well since I'm posting you can all see I've made it home alive with no wrecks.

Tammy, I think the Cat 2 and the Cat 1 both sleep seven.

Hope you all are having a good evening.

Later,
Emily

Will the aliens that have invaded Jen and Jenny's bodies please LEAVE!!!! That's the only reason that I could think of for those two extremely short posts! :rotfl2: Are you guys okay? :confused3

Just wanted to share that this COD extends to any vacation, not just cruises - I just got the Epcot Food & Wine Festival list in the mail today and have spent three hours putting together an Excel spreadsheet outlining every activity between September 30th and November 13th. Anyone want a copy? :bounce:

Okay, so now you know I really have absolutely NO LIFE (It is Friday night, right?) :rotfl:

I want one of Jen's scales. Set it to a svelt 105 please. And while you're at it, mark all of my clothes as size 4!

So - in what part of the world are these Wally World places like Holiday World, Hocking Hills and Cedar Point? All I can picture is Santa Claus sitting in a Cedar tree trying to sell his toys so he can get his sleigh out of hock... Okay - so did I mention I don't have a life?????

I'm getting excited about the cruise. DB and I chatted for over an hour last night about what to do when. Any thoughts on what are the MUST do at-sea things for the first-time DCL cruiser?

Sweet Sue

Sue, that COD needs some serious treatment. The only one I know of is Cedar Point and that is in Ohio. I think it is along one of the great lakes. And it is the roller coaster capital of the world, they only have like 14 roller coasters in one park.

Later everyone,
Emily

Tammy, the Cat 2 holds 6... I don't know why the DCL website says 5. The Cat 2 and Cat 1 are the only cabins large enough to hold my entire family.

Sue, Hocking Hills is in south-central OH. It is very scenic, and if you go at the right time of year, there are some pretty waterfalls. I don't think they'll be seeing them this trip; they are usually dried up to a trickle in the summer. Cedar Point is near Sandusky, OH (NW Ohio). We went there once before we had kids... it was a lot of fun.

Karen

Wow,
I go to work and come home and there is about 15 new posts. I can't miss a day now that everyone is posting alot. I guess everyone is getting excited for our trip. I now wish I would have stayed in Florida longer after the cruise but I have a high schooler with block scheduling. I don't want him far behind at the beginning of the year so I guess I made the right choice.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wally World is where Chevy Chase is going in the first Vacation movie. LOL You know Emily we have been going to Cedar Point since I was a little girl and somewhere when my kids were babies I quit going on roller coasters for the most part because we couldn't ride with them along. Now that they are older I feel like that is something I should do with them. Disney World is not a problem because most of their rides are mild. We took them on Tower of Terror and did not tell them what would happen though :scared1: that was kind of funny. Our five year old just about came out of his skin. This way he has something to share during group therapy someday.

I did hear on a show about designers setting sizes that in fact........personal shoppers OFTEN change the tags out of clothes for perstickity women who will only wear a certain size!! Heck, I will just whiteout the 1 that is in front and I am good!

Have a great day all,

Missy

Missy, I never thought of the white out idea. With all these weight losing tricks we are learning, we should be quite svelt come Sept. :rotfl2: We could write a book... I can see it now...nationwide advertising campaign...Who amoung us hasn't dreamed of being a size 2, reaching their optimal weight, still eating their favorite foods? Well with the "Sharpie and Whiteout Diet" if you can dream if we can make it happen. With a little pixie dust magic you'll reach your dreams and make them real.
**sharpie, whiteout, and camera (used to brag to your friends) not included. Mild to Moderate side effects have been reported. These include permanent tatooing due to ink, cramped fingers, being able to get down to the scale but not get back up, white tinged fingers. In certain cases the whiteout isn't enough and you have to use the scissors. In rare cases, people have reported cutting themselves. As with any diet, see a doctor before starting. No excersice or dieting is necessary, though you may have to check your b**t as a carryon while flying.

Sue, glad you are back and you have some time on your hands! It's about time after that week you had last week!

Missy, You are so evil. I confess, I have done something similarly evil...We were in the car coming back from SSprings and I rented Where the Red Fern Grows for them to watch. Afterward Natalie is crying so hard. She loved it but...I was feeling so quilty AND at the same time laughing so hard. My husband said, "Great Jen, do you have any more movies where people die. How about Terms of Endearment..she would really cry over that." Hey, I watched it in 3rd grade at school. :rotfl2: Anyway, maybe Oprah can do a show on how badly they were treated one day....(I bet she would like our diet!!!)

Jen, I fell off the couch laughing at that diet plan. :rotfl: :rotfl2: That is the best diet I've ever heard of. I'm proud I lost 2 pounds in one day!!!!! I guess those Lean Cusine meals really do work. Back to Publix I go for more. You made your daughter watch "Where the Red Fern Grows" on the way back from vacation? That's just plain mean. I've only read the book and that is bad enough, I don't think I could watch the movie.

Missy, thrill rides are my life. I remember when ToT first opened, I fell in love with it. We rode it 13 times in one week, thought that was a good number to end things on.

Have a good day everyone,
Emily

Well we were outside working on gathering garage sale things..toys, bags of kids clothes..etc, when my DD yells at me. Mom, I don't think reading the passporter was part of the garage sale plan. :sad2: Oh well, I think I'm worse than they are... even my DGS at his age tells me "it's not till Sept." Little do they know time will fly by and they will all turn to me to have all the answers and help everyone pack. :cool1:

I can pack a suitcase and DH come behind me and makes it half the size. I swear the man can fold a t-shirt the size of a 3X5 index card. I told him I guess we really don't need the space bags with you around. :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a nice day, I guess if we're not complaining about rain it the HEAT!!

Personally I'm just waiting till Monday :teeth: we all know about that one. I'll let you know what happens. 'Cause believe me something will ::yes::

TA when Tammy walks into the office :goodvibes :sunny:

TA when Tammy leaves the office :scared: :crazy2:  :guilty:

Sorry, I'm not being evil...just determined :rolleyes1

So cat 2 hold 6 I hear they go fast at booking, will keep in mind as we rebook onboard. My DMom wants to go on the next cruise so that will probably mean 7 of us. I told my DSGF if she wants to go on the next cruise to have her deposit money ready. That will be the deciding factor in the 6 or 7 ratio.

Haven't even left for this cruise and already thinking about the next one, someone just take all the money from my bank account and hand it over to Disney!!!

I know we're all dieting...but when ordering room service don't forget to order your Mickey Bars I hear there not on the menu. :mickeybar

Tammy :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Wish we could be there (TA). Be sure and have all your alternatives mapped out (in case she is a b***h and won't do anything)...maybe have the name and number of the local paper/television station, in case she has any response to the article you are writing ;) :goodvibes ...Seriously though, find out if you can cancel without penalty and if so have a different company holding a spot for you so if you have to you are covered...make sense. have your ducks in a row.

Amusement park rides make me want to (looking for a smiley face throwing up...hold on....Nope..they seriously need to revamp the smilies to reflect (my) real life :rotfl2: Wait... :crazy2: :crazy2: Close enough!) I am going to put the patch on during Disneyworld, also. They said that was the strongest anti :crazy2: medicine. Keep in mind, those doing Lord Sheffield, if you get sea :crazy2: (now I'm just having fun) at all to pack something. Its' going to be a very bumpy ride :boat:
I bought a new scale.....I was excited because it was a pound+ lower than my last one :bounce: (so it reflected my TRUE weight)...then my husband got on and it weighed the same as the other for him :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Even Better!

Hey since we got a seperate insurance than DCL even if I cancel and switch can it still be under that plan??

You can cancel anyway without penalty until a certain time (right around now...maybe last week, maybe next week) Just call your travel agent annonomously and ask (or not annonomously...what are they going to do...then also, call your insurance and ask them their policy...but definately call cruises unlimited and see what is avail, explain sit and have them hold something for you for 24 hours or get their advice. You don't want to just be out of the cruise.

Just found out that DCL overcharged me by $1200! The Florida resident discount I was supposed to get didn't happen. Apparently the DCL person "forgot" to apply the credit, even though I was setup for the credit. Whatever that means. DCL promptly refunded the money.

Tammy - Might as well call another TA and find out what they can do for you. I thought DCL could switch your reservation to a new TA in case you fired the old one. The new TA could then get the correct price and get your money refunded.

Now for sad news. My DGM passed away a few hours ago. I'm trying not to think about it too much since my DD is with her Dad and I'm all alone in the house. Luckily I have plans with friends in a half hour so that'll keep me from getting too weepy. :rose: for my DGM. I miss her!

Sweet Sue

Unfortunately I believe the time to cancel with a full refund has passed by a few weeks. I think you might be stuck with these idiots! I would go in with a smile, as it really could have been a clerical error. This is why we basically do all of our own vacation planning. The only reason we book DCL through Allseas is to get the discounted rate!

When they don't offer a refund and apology right out of the shoot........then let all hell brake loose. I can't imagine you are in any danger of losing money, as everything should have been in writing. Easy for me to say...........I would not loose sleep over it.
