:surfweb: My brain is Disney fried, please help.

I booked back in Feb. made our dining reservations in March as soon as I received the extra magic hour schedules. I am now making out our index cards for each day in Disney and realized the day I picked which was going to be our last Disney day also is the shortest day that week for Magic Kingdom :confused3 I had it written down in my original plans as 9-9pm with an extra magic hour but now it says online 9am-6pm with and extra morning magic hour. We check out of Disney on 9/16 the very next day and I feel like we may miss some things without those extra 3 hours :scared1:. Am I over reacting? should I add another park day for the day we check out and spend a half a day before our drive home?

Honestly, I would not worry about it. Your kids are the same ages as Mine were when we went for the first time. We did not go back to the hotel in the middle of the day we just went from 9 am to 5 pm when we had our dinner reservation and then we went home. I think you will do fine with the hours. Just skip the mid day return to the hotel, since the shop closes up early. Also save all your shopping till the end of the day. I think Main street closes one hour after the offical park time so that will give you till 7. If I am wrong about that though, hopefully someone will correct me. I would not encourage you to spend half a day in the park before you drive. Just sleep well the night before and leave well rested. You would be racing the final moring and you would be wanting to say for one more hour etc, so you would be exhausted staring the drive, which is never a good plan. Enjoy!

The down side is you won't have evening EMH. The upside (yes there is one) is that the crowds are usually low on days when MK closes early. So your wait times may not be too bad, especially if you get there at RD. I, too, would skip an afternoon break, since your park day will be short, and maximize the use of fastpass.

I wouldn't try an extra morning in the park. Especially during the hotter months (but that 's totally my opinion and lack of heat tolerance). I wouldn't want to START the drive home hot, sweaty and already tired.

:goodvibes  Well I ended up just switching MK and AK days!! I was able to get a reservation at AK on the 15th for 3:45pm earlier than our previous reservation @Tusker House but we are still getting to eat there and from what I read we can get through all of AK 6 hours if anything we will skip Tusker House and use the table service at MK =) whew

I am also upset w mk closing at 6pm. We have to go to mk on the 15th. I think 6pm is too early to close. Does anyone know why it is closing early?

MNSSHP is not scheduled for the 15th. Perhaps it is closing early for a private party.

Edited to add: I just researched it. Apparently it is a press event for the 40th anniversary that evening.

Oh That irritated me as well. We leave the 16 and are doing mk before we go. I would have liked to have done mk the 15 as it really is Disney to us but I switched things around. Not my preference but it will do! Hope we all have decent weather that week!
