Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

thanks for the tip about the webcam, have just watched the dream head off on another adventure, can't wait until it is our turn. Off to bed now though as half 10 in UK and have an early start for work!

Aw shucks, I missed it again. The Dream comes back on Thursday? I'll have to try and catch her then.

Today, my two youngest boys leave for camp, for 11 DAYS!! Tomorrow though is my little Tim's 8th Birthday, and he won't be here This will be his first time ever at sleepaway camp with mommy and daddy, and his first time ever NOT being with us for his birthday! BUT I've made him a Pirate T-Shirt he's been wanting. It's all wrapped and ready to hand over to a Camp Counsellor when I drive them to the bus pick up today. They will give it to him tomorrow at lunch time when they bring him out his Birthday cake, and they will take pictures and send them to me!!

They come back on the 21st, and then on the 23rd, we will have Tim's Big Birthday party after which he'll find out about this cruise!!!! WHAT A BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!! I can hardly wait for that! So now I've started a new countdown, till that party, because THATS when the REAL planning for this cruise will start!!


UPDATE: Youngest DS Tim did NOT go to camp today. I got him in to see the Dr. as he spiked another fever (was diagnosed with pneumonia on June 27 after being sick for 9 days) Well the fevers started back last Friday but gone by yesterday afternoon, but late morning today it came back. Well his pneumonia has made a come back. So he's on another round of antiobiotics and VERY upset he could not go to camp. We are holding out hope that if after 72 hours of antibiotics and as long as there is no more fevers by then and as long as he otherwise feels fine, that we can drive him to the island to finish out the last 7 or 8 days of camp.
I am SO thankful if this had to happen, it's happening NOW and NOT in late August early Sept.

Trying to figure out a disign now for the shirt I want to make for my son and I to wear on boarding day. This shirt he'll open at the surprise reveal about THIS cruise!!

The nurse from Tim's camp got back to us last night and said Tim can certainly go join the rest of them at camp after 48 hours of antibiotics, but to be on the safe side, I want to push that to 72 hours. As TODAY is his birthday, and we have nothing planned as he wasn't supposed to be here, I wanted to do the Cruise reveal for him today, But threeiscrazy (Sheri) tells me I can't LOL. And she's right, the rest of the family has to be here for that, and the park right now is too wait to bury some treasure, since yesterdays rain. So we'll still wait for the 23rd to do that But in any case, I will be driving him to Camp on Thursday afternoon. I'm looking forward to the drive there, but not the drive back. 3hrs 40 minutes each way. And the 2nd half will be by myself But Tim is THRILLED he can go at all!!

I received a confirmation e-mail from DCL this morning that shows a credit to our account. It's only $11.52, but hey, that's something!! I'm thinking that it may be a fuel surcharge refund as we had the same thing happen on the last cruise, but I'm on hold with DCL to find out for sure!

BTW--We're only 59 days away!!!!

ETA: I finally talked to a CM, and they told me the credit is actually for government taxes! Never had that before, but I'm not complaining!!

Hi cruisers!! I'm on the sailing right before you on the 8th!! I thought I would share some fun information! I was looking around the Disney on Ice site to get tickets for my DDs (3 &4), and found that the new show Dare To Dream would be in Orlando the 9th- 11th. So if any of you are flying in the day before you have something else to do that night. Just letting you know!!! Hope you are all having a great time planing and I hope for everything to be smooth sailing!!

You made four for the Sept 11th cruise. One of them had the ship only in the water and the title Sept 11th cruise. That is the one I would love personalized to put on my fridge. I have DCL transfers, where do you catch the bus?
After the cruise were going to POP for a few nights, anyone else going to Disney resorts?

We are flying in and staying at the hyatt but are staying there for 2 nights as flight from the UK were cheaper on the friday, and have the DCL transfer not sure where you catch the bus though, we are then off to OKW for 9 nights after the cruise and hopefully going to MNSSHP. Am so excited

DW and I are driving over to WDW and staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a couple nights before the cruise. It is pretty much a straight drive over from our home on the west coast of Florida to WDW - takes us about an hour and a half. Living here in Florida we have stayed at almost all of the Disney onsite resorts. We haven't stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge though for a couple of years. Looking forward to staying there. Got some shopping to do while we are at WDW too before the cruise. We get up the day of the cruise and drive over to Port Canaveral and leave the car at the port.
One of the first things we are going to do is to eat a at the resort!!!

We are flying in on Fri. too, planning a DISmeet with a couple of people we met on our last cruise. We are staying at CSR my DH loved the resort when we visited for dinner last Oct. We will take the cruiseline bus to port on Sun.

I am debating on getting Night of Joy tickets so we can spend some time at MK from 4 to midnight and catch some great performances. Just worried it will be too crowed. Does anyone know what it's like?

I think you'd have to go back to the airport to use the DCL busses. I don't know that they go out to the Hyatt. I honestly don't know where to catch them, though. I think there's a stand in baggage claim, and they tell you where to go?

FW and I are headed over to the Contemporary for 10 Days after the cruise. Can't believe it's all sneaking up on us so fast! It seemed like it was taking forever, and now it's coming too quickly!

I'm kinda bummed to be missing Night of Joy. If you like contemporary Christian music, I think you'd have a blast regardless of any crowds. I don't think it would be too bad, though. No worse than any other concert, I would think.

The DCL buses run from the Airport to Port and from the Airport to WDW depending on where you are going. When staying at the Airport Hyatt it's real easy to catch the bus. I've never done it but friends of ours have. They said it's a simple short walk from the hotel over to where the buses pick up, AND you don't have to carry your luggage from the hotel to the bus!! You just let the Hyatt staff know you are taking a DCL bus in the morning and they will handle everything for you
