Thats the most amazing part of today! I can actually say that too David!! A CRUISE THIS YEAR!!! WOO HOOO!!

As for Christmas decorations and such, we have family over for dinner tomorrow so I decided to leave everything up. Monday is the STAT Holiday here, so neither DH nor I work on Monday, even though the school board has the kids back at school on Monday. Originally I wasn't going to send them to school then, but have now decided, I will, then the DH and I can peacefully put all decorations and tree away, without the hassel of arguing with the kids for some help.

I had a great night last night, dinner with my DH and two youngest children, then while DH monitored oldest DS's party here at the house, I was at a friends with my other boys to ring in the New Year!

We have my nephew here from PEI as a houseguest till Wednesday ( I only met this nephew for the first time last week) and am thrilled with that. Today I will be calling my oldest brother whom I haven't seen or heard from in 30 some years! I think this is a great way to start off the new year!

So again, HAPPY NEW YEAR, may it be a Great one for all of you!:cheer2:

Happy New Year Everyone! This is the beginning of a great year! I can't wait to get married on the Dream this year!:lovestruc:dance3:

Hope everyone had a safe New Year's Eve. We enjoyed the night with my mom and dad. I had to work today so we fell asleep right after the ball dropped. Have a great weekend everyone!

Well. it's back to work for DW and I tomorrow. We have had the past 10 days off, and it has been soooooooooooooo nice.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Took down all of our Christmas decorations yesterday. The ol' homestead looks empty now. But we are going to get some new carpet put down in the living room before spring and possibly some new living room furniture too. That should brighten everything up. (I guess I won't be able to eat on the couch after we get the new furniture!!!):confused3

The Dream will sail into Port Canaveral early Tuesday morning. Hope the web cam is turned on so we all can see her sail in. Can't wait to see some of the pictures from the first sailings. Guys, our day is coming up fast when we will be boarding the Dream. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Country Inn and Suites for the 10th? We're booked there too! Did you get a good rate?

I got the idea from you, Judy! Thanks:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

I'm not sure but I think it was good. We have 2 rooms for 8 people at $139 each with free transfers to port and car parking for the duration of the cruise. Do you know if that was good? Sounded good to me considering with a back to back we will pay over $100 in parking.:scared1:

We have been busy all day planning this. My boy's mom finally agreed to let them go today!! She will notarize everything on Friday.

We just booked the kids flights home with Grandpa and the hotel. I hope we didn't do it too soon.

Maybe will can meet up at the hotel, Judy?:dance3:

Did you try the CARLSONF code? That gives you a room for $70.00 for the night. Although that might not include the park and cruise package, but that would only be an additional $20.00. I'll be using a rental car and will then return the rental on the 11th prior to the cruise. After the B2B, I think I'll use DCL transportation to get to from port to Airport, as I think at that point it'll be too much of a hassel to rent a car again.
As for airfare, I've never had to purchase it before and I'm wondering WHEN I should book that? So don't know if now is too soon. I keep checking the prices, but suppose I should do that soon, just to have it done with. I need to find a hotel in Syracuse that won't cost an arm and a leg, and I need to find out if I can park for a week and a day at the airport or if I need to find a hotel with a park and cruise package. Any idea on how I would find out if the SYR airport has long term parking? This is all getting me really nervous again :scared1: The more I think about flying, the more I think I've developed a phobia of it. I haven't flown since 2006 and rarely before then. I'm seriously considering driving down, but 24 hours driving time, on my own? :scared1: DS7 REALLY wants to go on a plane, so he would be thrilled. Maybe I'll check out train costs.;) OK, I did check out train costs. So I can either drive to Syracuse and fly out return for $538.00 plus Hotel and parking. OR I can drive to Penn Station in NY, and take the train return for $741.00 (thats a ROOM on the train with chairs looking out a big picture window, and the chairs turn into beds as travel would be from 3 in the afternoon to 10 the next morning). $200.00 to take away my anxiety...... Is it worth that?

Thats great the boys get to go with you for this trip!! :yay:

Did you try the CARLSONF code?

Thanks for this info. I'm gonna try it. We were gonna stay at the Hyatt but the more I think about it the more I think we are gonna rent a car and try to stay closer to the port area.

I'm glad to see so many people doing the B2B. I'm looking forward to the FE group and just being on this beautiful ship.
Hooray for all of us :cheer2:

Thanks for the code I just called and tried to change it but they were all sold out. We are driving down with all the kids to save on airfare but then we are flying the kids home with my father-in-law. We are going to drop them off at the airport in between then come back for the second cruise and drive back afterwards with a few stops.

I love to fly and that price sounds great if it's for both of you. I would definately book soon because prices will be going up with gas. I think a train would be a lot of fun too. We just paid $560 for 4 kids to fly home one way. That was the cheapest non-stop flight we could find. We've been watching it and the prices keep going up so we chose to book it now.

DW and I had to go back to work today. We were off of work for 10 days around Christmas and New Year's. It was sooooooooooooooooooo nice. Slept like a baby every night, got up whenever I wanted to, leisurely drank my coffee in the morning, (versus gulping it down in a rush before racing out the door), got caught up on my DVR recorded programs, sat out by the pool watching nature and the world go by and, most important, I was able to take a NAP if I wanted too!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Well everyone, the Dream pulls into Port Canaveral early tomorrow morning. Get those webcam pages ready. I know I have a couple of different ones bookmarked so I can check them out tomorrow. Pretty soon we will be able to see some photo's the first cruisers on board have taken. :cool1::cool1:

Everyone have a great Monday!!!

Tomorrow it's back to the daily grind for us. Got all the Christmas stuff put away today. DH went out for a bit while the kids and I did all the work. DH came home looked at the living room all put back the way it was before Christmas (only CLEAN this time), and he made a sad face. Yes it's sad, a Christmas tree is just SO cheery and knowing that another Christmas is a year away, just SAD! But I'm thinking ahead now to the Mommy and Me Cruise with my DS7 and enjoying our pet rats. The baby one is crawling around on my keyboard as I type. Earlier, she was playing with the sting tie on my shirt, much like a cat would! Batting at it and trying to catch it with her mouth, Funny as heck!!
I'm debating taking the train to Orlando instead of flying. It's $200.00 more but the more I think of flying, for some reason the more bad anxiety I'm experiencing about it. I'll have to decide soon though. :confused3
