Love the hiking pics. :goodvibes

Thanks for the best wishes. It was my suggestion to get married on Independence Day, I thought it was ironic as he had made me wait 9 years before we actually got married.

Oh you are a patient woman Claire. It took Ed 3 weeks to propose and I still give him grief that it took him that long :rotfl: As I was only visiting the U.S. at the time, he really had to decide quick if he wanted me or not :rolleyes1

Have fun in London with your Honey, and tell us all about the surprises when you get back ... well, maybe not all of them ..

No thankful I never got involved in VMK I can imagine it would have taken over my life :rotfl:

Yes it was an all consuming game, but I was very sick at the time with a pseudo brain tumor, so I had nothing better to do than play Disney games :goodvibes

:sad2:I was checking to see if there were fridge's in the room. It only says "cooling Box" Am I to assume that there is no freezer compartment in them. I have a very bad knee and Ice packs help a lot. I was hoping anyway.:sad2::sad2:

We have taken ziplock bags and filled them with ice from the soda machines on deck 9 but getting one of these type of things as Beauty & the Best suggested is a great idea

icepack.jpg

I was only able to find one and it wasn't at JoAnn's Fabric. They had none. I went to several scrapbooking places and finally found one at Archiver's. I left my name/telephone number for them to call me when they re-ordered so I could get them for Pinky166. They are so pretty! Thanks for the tip! :cool1:

Deb would you like me to pick up some for Claire, we have plenty at our JoAnn's. Sorry you didn't find any, but if you want another pack I could get one for you .. 40% off and we don't have sales tax in Oregon. I'm glad you like them and if you want more from the collection let me know, I know I saw these there ..

I am headed there tomorrow to use my 50% off coupon :yay:

After a long day of family emergencies and traveling, I finally arrived at the Lake House too tired to post anything other than apologies for not posting the pin list or answering any PM's or reading the DIS which I hope to do on Saturday!

As others have said, no ice box. You can request fridges for medical reasons but even then I'm not sure if it has a freezer compartment. Why don't you phone DCL and ask about requesting one?

All these cute pooch photos are lovely :cloud9:

Claire - Congratulations to you both on your 10th Wedding Anniversary :)

Noel - I hope everything is ok.

Poor you Karen. Are you feeling better now?

There is a lot of it going around at the moment, Lee & I have been ill all week too. Hope you're feeling better soon hun.

Hope you're feeling better soon :grouphug:

i do need to sort out a lot of dis stuff soon though, as well as the PMs i need to answer, i need to start getting the new thread ready too.

elephant.jpg

i'll have a look on sunday, hopefully we'll still have them, our sale stuff is flying out the door at the mo.
and :rotfl: at that photo too!

Okay, that's Karen, Deb, Karen and me - we should plan to meet up on the deck dancefloor at the non-sailaway party and pirates night. I'm going to warm up my cha cha slide now.....:woohoo:

its a date! :rotfl2:

Did you start dating in elementary/primary school?

I had just left school (I was just turned 17 when we met) and just started at college, Lee had already left school (he is almost a year older than me, give 10 days) and was working at the place where I got a part time job at the weekend to fund my way through college....that was 19 years ago! :lovestruc

Nope, we decided it wasn't in the cards. We may drive to Chicago or Kansas City for a night (4-5 hours instead of 17 to WDW!) instead.

We'll get to see Mickey in 70 days or so anyway! ::MickeyMo

Hope you have a fab time anyway and as you say you'll soon be with Mickey for 2 whole weeks! :cool1:

Thanks so much for trying Deb. I'll see if Karen can get some for me. :)

No problem I am reading from my phone and for some reason it didn't show all the posts . The offer is open if Deb can't get it. I just saw an opportunity to trade scrapbook stuff for Maltesas :haha: The borders I posted come 20 in a pack, 2 each of 10 designs not sure if that means you still want 2 pkgs

Thanks Karen. Deb has sent me a message she could only find one set for herself so if you could grab them for me that would be great. I didn't realise there are so many in each pack so one will plenty for me, thanks. Oh and if you happen to pass by those matching stickers then I wouldn't mind a sheet of those too. ;) Thank you so much, I will be sure to stock up on some Maltesers to bring with me, although I can't buy them until the day before we leave otherwise i'll eat them. :lmao:

Wow 3 weeks! :worship: Luckily we got engaged within a few months so it was a VERY long engagement.

I will be sure to tell you all about the surprises when we get back on Tuesday and no doubt i'll have some photos to share.

After a long day of family emergencies and traveling, I finally arrived at the Lake House too tired to post anything other than apologies for not posting the pin list or answering any PM's or reading the DIS which I hope to do on Saturday!

I hope everything's ok Noel, don't worry about the Pins etc they will wait.

Thanks Michelle. :goodvibes

I forgot to say i'm loving all the doggie photos this morning. :goodvibes

It's Stamford's 6th Birthday today and he is currently playing with his new toy. :goodvibes Kind of sucks that today of all days we got a letter back from his insurance saying they are not paying out on his tumor as it was the same type as the one from last year. :headache: I guess we need to find £600 ($900) from somewhere to pay for it now.

Not a great week for news as we got a letter on Thursday from the courts about our burglary incident in April and the scumbag basically got let off with an 8pm curfew for 12 weeks. On top of that because he has no means (aka unemployed druggie) he doesn't even have to pay us the £300 ($450) cost of repairs to the door he busted open. It is laughable!!! How pathetic is the justice system in our country. :sad2:

Binkytell, Thanks for organizing the brunch, we will have to wait for the 10th to find out for sure. Fingers crossed!!

Does anyone know approximately when people in the GTY category will get assigned staterooms? On other cruise lines it can be anywhere from 30 days to a week before or the day you arrive?

Thanks!

Amanda

Sorry about all that bad news Claire. It really is a complete farce about your burglar. When are they going to realise that basically letting them off, which in reality that is what it is here, isn't going to do them any good at all. Or the country's crime situation.:mad::mad: They should make him pay in instalments from his benefits that he no doubt gets.

I totally agree, a curfew is not going to prevent him doing it again is it??? Considering from Lee detaining him they got his fingers prints and were able to charge him with another burglary so it's like it was even his first offense. It makes my blood boil. :headache: I assume he got off the other burglary too.

I was fully expecting it to be paid at about £1 a week from his dole money but no they haven't even bothered with that, it's disgusting!!!! :sad2:

Claire I'm so saddened to read this.

The insurance companies just think of all ways to get out of paying:sad2:

Pathetic is not the word I would use ;):guilty: So he just walks free! You have to pay for what damage he did...

He will just see it as a joke and of course he won't stick to his curfew, unless he is tagged of course.

Is there no complaints procedure or something like that Claire. MP etc. I know in the grand scheme of things they will think you haven't been too hard done by(:sad2:) but it is the just the whole way the system is run. Trouble is you will be made out to be the criminal and him the victim!! Poor chap needs the money to fund his drug habit etc.

Last year I came home from visiting my son in California to find that the house had been burglarized. It happened during the daytime on the day before I got back. Not sure if they even knew that I was gone for a week, since the police said that there had been a few other daytime robberies in the area. Smart thieves--they actually threw my jewelry all around my bedroom. Left all the cheap costume stuff and only took gold and silver pieces. Took computer equipment and a small TV. Left our larger TV--I guess it was too much for them! I found the fingerprint dust to be awful. The police were very nice, but said that with all the "We Buy Gold" places around I would never see any of the jewelry again. We had serial numbers for some of the computer stuff, but nothing was ever recovered and no one was arrested.

I now have a good alarm system, but I miss the days of feeling safe. I probably should never have done it, but I used to sleep with windows open. No more.

I truly understand your anger that this jerk was actually caught and did not have to make up for what he had done. We try to teach our kids that there are consequences for their actions. Too bad the judicial system sometimes misses this point.

I am headed there tomorrow to use my 50% off coupon :yay:

Karen, that would be awesome! I exhausted my search here in Raleigh. I would hate for Claire not to get them, and if Archivers calls later, I'll just cancel with them! I wouldn't mind one more of the borders. Thanks so much!!! :worship::worship::worship: Also, if you wouldn't mind picking up the other matching set of stickers, I would appreciate it!

Claire.....was going to give you the borders for our scrapbook exhange since you are on the list, but you'll probably want them before then. Hope Karen is able to get some more to send you!

Here's a heads up for scrapbookers. I was at JoAnn Fabric yesterday and picked up these borders for scrapbooking ... as soon as I saw the row of drinks I thought of you guys and your FABs  They were on sale at 40% off so I only paid $2.19 for them .. great deal! They are so much cuter IRL than the picture, about 1/2 of them have glitter :cloud9:

30-594302.jpg

PS: the 40% off scrapbooking supplies is good until 7/17

Wouldn't that make an Awesome and EASY item for the scrapbook swap!

oh if you have one left 9-12 months, that would be fab

OH my gosh I am ROAR"ING with laughter at that visual!

Where are they located in florida??? Always love an new place to get scrapbook supplies, especially paper to use with my cricut machine!!!:thumbsup2
You should also check out Mousememories in Kissimmee! (We looked, unsuccessfully, for Scrap My trip so be sure you get REALLY good directions if you're going there.)

:sad2:I was checking to see if there were fridge's in the room. It only says "cooling Box" Am I to assume that there is no freezer compartment in them. I have a very bad knee and Ice packs help a lot. I was hoping anyway.:sad2::sad2:

You can get Ice twice a day delivered from your room host = plus snag all you want from the ice machine on Deck 9. I keep a gallon bag of ice in the bottom of my cool box at all times, on a small towel to catch the drips. That cold towel feels good on the achey spots, too.

Another idea for the scrapbook exchange :)

I've done lost track of who's who from where - call it my ancient brain. If I'd had any sense, I'd have kept a spreadsheet like we used to keep a Rolodex in the old days:rotfl2:

Americans - have you seen the article that our credit cards won't work in Europe because they don't have a chip like the European ones do? What's your strategy for dealing with that?

Hope everyone has a great Weekend!

Thanks Michelle, it really is shocking that he doesn't have to pay. :sad2: To make matters worse we didn't claim it on our house insurance as the Police told us he would be made to pay for the damage when they took our statements that night.

He will just see it as a joke and of course he won't stick to his curfew, unless he is tagged of course.

It's just bloody ludicrous! I hate the way this country is going....but for fear of being banned from the DIS i'll leave it there.

Karen

How bad that none of your things were ever found or that they weren't caught. :guilty:

I know exactly what you mean regards to missing the days of feeling safe! :guilty: I am at home on my own during the daytime & I keep all the doors locked. I let the dogs out in the garden for short periods but as soon as they come in I lock the door again.

We have an alarm but the guy broke in late one night whilst we were still up, he was hiding in our house waiting for us to go to bed....thankfully my husband found him by chance and held him (with force) until the Police arrived. It was so scary!

Hope everyone has a great Weekend!

If anyone needs directions I can give them. It is very confusing trying to find it but once you know where it is, it is super easy. Mousememories is also a good place. I check out their booths when the scrapbook show is in town. The hours make it impossible for me actually go over there.

For all my scrappers....if anyone can find a sticker of Mushu please let me know. I need it for my wedding scrapbook. We had our tables with Disney characters instead of numbers and all of my husbands coworkers were at the Mushu table since that is the character they deal with in the show. Can't find him anywhere!!

Credit cards won't work in Europe...what? When did this start happening. We had no problem last year in April.

Oh lord, Liz. We need to talk on the cruise. Bella (the beagle) is spoiled rotten too! Jeremy wants to take her to Disney World and let her stay at the pet resort while we're at the parks! She'll get her own vacation! :lmao:
My DH would love to take the dogs to the DW pet resort.

No furbaby, just a furNEPHEW. Just like no kids to take cruising, so I take my nieces. My sister is the provider of my companions.
Those are great photos of your dog.
The puppy (who's about 15 mos now) is the one shown eating peanut butter in an earlier post.
He's got a summer haircut now, so no beard. Cocker Spaniel, but some poodle in him, giving that curly hair on top.

He's been great for dad and me - really keeps our spirits up and us laughing. The other day he went into dad's bathroom and was barking at the sink. He also barks at wheelbarrows.
Our cocker spaniel barks at almost anything with wheels except cars and trucks unless they are noisey. Especially barks at motorcycles and bicycles. :rotfl:
That would be great! It will be hard to be away from her for three weeks - but Jeremy is wanting to fill the iPad full of pictures of her and use it as a slideshow to have in the stateroom. You can see who rates in our house!
We all will need to show off our fur babies with each other.

I really appreciate all of your suggestions. Last year when I was on the EBTA with Celebrity my wonderful cabin staff brought a Champagne Bucket in and kept it filled with Ice.:cold::cold: They even put my "Gel Pack" in it so it would be Ice cold when I returned to my room. How wonderful it felt on my knee that has had several surgeries. I am sure I can arrange something on this cruise. Those wonderful people pamper us so much:grouphug:
