The last two days have felt like a week!! All sorts of annoying little things that just had to go wrong. I'm so glad I've got three days off!
All those doggy pics are so cute! Mine don't sit still long enough to get a good pic.
You can count me in for the dance party on Deck 9!!
It's our 10th wedding Anniversary on Monday and i've planned a surprise for Lee, we are going to London on Sunday & staying over night. I've got lots of surprises booked for us and I can't wait!
Congratulations! That sounds like a wonderful way to spend your anniversary. I love London. After Florida, it's my second-choice dream place to live.
Goodness, he sounds like our Chloe.
Funny thing is, whenever we do put them in doggie daycare, they both end up sleeping on the same bed, and sticking by each other and the ladies at the hotel just love them to death. I always hear the rallying call, "Here come the girls!" And this hotel is about 1/2 hr from me. But well worth the kindness and care they help my girls. We've been taking them to them for 6 yrs now and though they've opened other branches, I stick to this one because I know they'll be well taken care off. The first couple of times, the dogs did lose some weight but now, the piggies come back same or 1-2 lbs more as they get feed twice a day and lot so human play time as well as doggie play time.
Sorry, had to mention as it does get better just takes lots and lots of patience. Now Chloe just loves my son and my husband but it took time.
Poor babies! They are lucky that they have you Pat & that you are patient & caring enough to work through their issues.

Its said that most animals who end up in shelters are there due to behavioral issues - I know this was probably the case w/ my dog as well. It makes me sad that more people don't give them a chance & try to help them through their problems.
Your doggie hotel sounds a lot like where we take our Lucky. You're in FL too right? We use Pet Paradise in Sanford, Florida and we really like it. Anyhow, maybe having the other dogs around will help little Neville, though for Juanita it might be harder.
According to the rescue group, Neville was practically catatonic when they pulled him from Animal Control. Then he hid in his dog house for two weeks. When I walked in with big George, they looked really skeptical. But Neville came to me right away, he wasn't at all afraid of George, and George was very gentle with him. Neville's shyness lasted til we got in the car - then it was paws on the dash and tail wagging the whole way home.
I'm lucky that I married someone who is as big a sucker for dogs as I am! Then again, if he wasn't I wouldn't have even dated him, let alone marry him. He just doesn't get that he needs to spend some time working with Juanita, and that means sitting patiently and letting her learn to trust him. He figures she should love him just b/c all the other dogs do.
I have no idea why some of ours ended up in the shelters - or in George's case, on the side of the road. Some of the excuses people use for giving up a pet are just pathetic. Pablo, for example, was about 7 yrs old, heartworm positive, and was picked up as a stray. Who does that to their pet - let them get heartworms and then throw them away??
We live in central Georgia (ugh - I was soooo bad in a past life), but I was born and raised in Orlando. (Wish I was there now.) Anyway, despite the fact that we live in the cultural wasteland of the universe, our doggie hotel is awesome! The dogs go out 5-8 times a day, the staff arrive at 5am and leave at 9pm, and the owner is extremely picky about her staff. I like that so much better than boarding at the vets where they might go out 3 times a day, get no extra attention (the staff are busy with patients), and are alone from 5pm til 8am. I also don't like places that charge for extra playtime or petting or walks beyond the morning and evening outings. They also pay attention to our dogs' little issues, like George's knee problems, and they don't think I'm weird b/c I call to check on them when we're away. I was talking to them about Juanita (can't recall the exact issue) and they said, "She can come and sit up front with us, if it would make her feel better." They have a couple of crates under the front desk for the ones who need some extra attention. So that's worth every penny we pay, and it really isn't that much more than the vet's.
That Best Friends resort at wdw looks pretty awesome. We actually drive out to Sanford (outside Orlando) to board Lucky - sometimes its 2 hours out of our way from where we're flying, but we do it anyway b/c he knows the people there & they have a pool & send us web videos while we're away.
How cool would it be if there was an all inclusive kind of resort that was geared towards pet owners? They would allow dogs in the pools and at all of the dining areas and you could take hikes and do activities w/ your dog during the day....ah but I dream.
I'm not all that impressed with Best Friends. Too many extra charges for what ours already includes - for much less. Still better than what they had before, though.
A pet-friendly Disney resort would be so very cool! Trouble is, too many people would abuse it. I find it laughable what some hotels consider being "pet-friendly." A non-refundable $100 pet fee doesn't seem very "friendly" to me! Luckily, we've found two hotels in Orlando we like that are actually "friendly" - clean, decent, and reasonable or no pet fees. They're not very useful to us for visiting WDW, but work well when we visit my family.
We are actually flying out of Orlando this time. We live in Sarasota (south of Tampa) but we're doing one night at wdw before the cruise so we can leave our car on property and not pay parking for 14 nights.

Its a codeshare or something on Iberia - though thats more my husband's area, he loves airplanes.
When are you leaving? Are you going through JFK or Miami?
