I have been working my way through this thread since last weekend when we first decided we may quite love to go on this cruise, so have been getting very excited to read about all of the goings on..........

But we have managed to book today with Virgin!! and right now are so excited we dont know what to do with ourselves.

We are Hazel and Annie and have spent the past 10 years or so taking our holidays in WDW. We were due to take our holiday in California this year but that fell through, and after spending an entire week sulking and trawling the internet for different holidays i came across the WBTA!

We have never been on any kind of cruise before so this is all completely new to us, so we thought what better way to start than the Disney way!!

We are not going with kids but are just big versions of kids ourselves :dance3:

We have lots of things we want to know about but after my excitement has subsided a little i will form a legible list!!

I take it to add ourselves on to the organised activities etc we just pm the person that arranges it?

Apologies for randomness but this is what we're doing on our chairs right now ..... :cool1:

looking forward ti getting to know some people before we leave, we think we are quite easy to get along with and always love meeting new people!!

xxxxx

When: Definitely on a sea day....stay tuned for which day!
Time: TBD
Where: You will be given a list of participating stateroom numbers and categories the day after we embark (to account for all those upgrades, don't you know )
Refreshments: Optional per discretion of stateroom participant.

16. If you want a designed DIS tee shirt for this cruise, follow the instruction in this post. DIS Tee shirt

17. Cliffy 97 (Dan and Bruce) are organizing a typical English pub crawl with a date TBD. Info so far is as follows:
On a sea day those who were interested would meet in one of the bars for ( Traditionally a half pint pounded, I would suggest a drink of your choice) and then visit (Crawl) every other bar on the ship at least once.

As we do not have to worry about anything closing or how we are getting home, I would I would imagine we can spend 20-30 min at each location versus the 5-10 min you have on the monopoly pub crawl in London.

Perhaps we can make tshirts up too.

Stay tuned for more details.

17. If anyone wants to organize a postcard exchange, please feel free to start one. What we did las year is bring a postcard from where we lived and left in each other's FE. It is best to limit the number of participants no more than 25 as cost and weight to bring become an issue.

18. If you are interested in joining us for a farewell lunch, contact Claire (Pinky166) to be added to the list.
Come & join us for a farewell DIS lunch on the last sea day. Thursday 22nd Sept at 12.15pm, we are not sure which of the three rotational restaurants will be open on that day, should there be more than one open I have put them in order of preference - 1st Lumiere's, 2nd Parrot Cay or 3rd Animator's Palate.

Please make sure you check your Navigator that morning to see which restaurant is open for lunch as I won't be able to tell you in advance.

Please PM me if you'd like to join us and I will add you to the list, then once onboard notify the restaurant so they can seat us together at some large tables.

airport transfer on the 10th

for those arriving on the 10th and wanting to share the bus:
at the moment, we have 14 people, we have room for 2 more people before we need a larger bus. i'll will keep everyone up to date with the current numbers.

Karen, just checking to be sure you have John and I on the list for the bus.

Hey Karen, they were on the Dream in January but i'm not sure if they were just for the new ship as they had lots of exclusive SHAG merchandise. Mary will be back any day now so hopefully she will be able to report if they are on the Magic.

(:lmao: Sorry I had to add a laughing smilie as the word "shag" in the UK has a rude meaning.)

On the Wonder in Alaska, they were selling tropical shirts with that design. I think they had other merchandise, too.

Shag was a dance in the coastal Carolinas in the 1950s or 60s; then it was a carpet in the 1970s; then along came Austin Powers and the meaning really changed.

I will update as soon as we get a cabin number.

Hi and welcome. We are Marilyn and John on our 8th cruise!!!!!

Welcome aboard Hazel & Annie! I see that you two usually vacation in wdw...Is this your first Disney cruise?

Yes this is our first every cruise of any sort! I am not a big fan of the sea, but a big Disney fan so willing to give sailing a go!

Quick question to anyone- do the staterooms have coffee making facilities in them? Cant seem to find that info anywhere.

If you share the document with "wbta-fe-2011@googlegroups.com", it will be automatically shared with all members of the group. Not terribly intuitive, but it should work.

And I'm not terribly intuitive about these things in the first place. :rotfl:

Okay, I've done that. NOW... everyone should be able to access it under "Discussions" on the group page. There is also a message there on how to download it. The red links on the Home page referring to zipped files don't seem to do anything. At least, they don't do anything for me. So once you've sent me your request to join the Google Group and gotten the "approval" you should be good to go. I hope.

Next, I've received some requests for list access from people who are not signed up for the FE. Sorry, but for security reasons I'm only giving access to people who have signed up to participate in the FE exchange. You MUST have sent me a PM with your information (as described on Page 1 and in Noel's Welcome Wagon message) in order to be included. No offense to anyone here, but there are a number of people participating in the FE who have expressed concerns about having cabin numbers and children's names posted, and I feel the need to respect their concerns. Thank you for your understanding about this.

Oh, and THANK YOU everyone, for your kind words! It'll be worth it if everyone has a good time with this.

Hi, and welcome aboard :goodvibes The staterooms don't have any coffee making facilities, but you can order it from room service, or have it delivered with breakfast. In the adult area of the ship there is Cove cafe, where you can purchase "starbucks style" coffee. Hope that helps you.

Thanks Marilyn and Claire :)

It was brilliant, but we are absolutely knackered :lmao:

We were blessed with the weather it was boiling, apparently it wasn't so good the week before.

Can't wait to pick up Tod & Copper, I always miss the little furballs so much.

The shopping mall in Monte Carlo let's you take your posh pooches into the shops, I saw so many yorkies, it made me miss my 2 even more lol

Welcome Back Mary! I'm glad you had a wonderful time. We will wait for pictures!

Welcom Jerry & Jan! :goodvibes We were also on the EBTA last year so we have sailed together before.

I have heard only good things about Blue Zoo, it has been on our to do list for ages but we haven't made it there yet.

I don't bake much but in the last six months or so I have started to enjoy baking cakes, don't think i've quite perfected any of them yet but they've all been edible. :lmao:

I agree...I am turning into my mother more & more each day. :scared1:

I have grown to like cooking over the past few years. I love cakes and cookies and all manner of sweets, but pies seem a little tougher, so I am working on those right now, plus w/ all of this lovely summer fruit, its hard not to.

Yes, whenever I talk to my mom about baking and stuff, I can tell she's pleased. I asked her about canning today and she was very excited that I was interested. Again w/ the beautiful summer fruit, canning is something that I might try - it sounds easier than piecrust!

We ate at the Blue Zoo at the Dolphin when we stayed there at Xmas 2007 to celebrate both DH and my birthday. Food and service were excellent then.

Thanks for your input! I am getting excited about this one.

I think you will find that cruising is a lot of fun, and even more fun on Disney. Do you like to do character greeting at the parks? That is one of the really nice things about a Disney cruise, the characters are very accessible b/c they're around throughout the day.

No coffee maker in the rooms, but lots of places to find coffee onboard and there's always room service (which is free.)

Welcome aboard to the new cruisers:wave:

Mary - can't wait to hear all about your cruise - safe flight home.

Thats brilliant :thumbsup2

I am wondering what it refers to in the USA? :rotfl2: Clearly something completely different !

SHAG, aka joSH AGle, is an artist that started doing a lot of limited edition prints for Disney a few years ago. If you search "disney shag" on ebay you can see a lot of his stuff. I think it started as part of the 50th anniversary of Disneyland, but I'm not 100% positive.

Karen, just checking to be sure you have John and I on the list for the bus.

Karen,

Kevin & I are planning to be with you on the bus. Just double checking, also. Have you noticed a trend toward worrying among us? Just sayin'....

could you both let me know your flight arrival times into BCN so i can keep track

Thanks for warm welcome, we are from Kent, so not far from you in Essex!

i live in southend but actually work in bluewater shopping centre near dartford :)

and bus update - we now have 18 people arriving somewhere between 9.25am and 11am. thinking of a pick up time of about 12pm to allow everyone to get through customs and immigration. journey should take about 25-30 minutes according to google maps, so we should be at the terminal by approx 12.30pm
