We are bring my sister and law and her husband on our vacation at BLT in June. I know that we can pay separately for the dining plan when we check in, but will our dining credits be kept separate?

The credits will all be lumped together. I would suggest just explaining how it works. That they can have one counter service, one table, and one snack. Also, you might suggest helping them make their ADR's.

On a side note. Hello from Lewisville. Actually I am at work in Flower Mound right now. Did you know we are have a DFW DIS meet on Jan 3rd? :)

Yes all lumped together, but we always made an accounting when we did this with another family, and for the most part it worked out okay. One time our DS and family ended up getting an extra dinner, and that meant DH and I ended up being one short, but we didn't mind.

You can also go to the Concierge at your resort and have them print your DDP report every couple of days to keep track of the points.

Nothing worse than finding out that you are short TS credits because your guests bought a couple of hamburgers at Beaches and Cream. :goodvibes

As long as you are all listed on the same reservation, all dining credits for the entire reservation will be pooled. There's no way to have them separated. All persons on the reservation should be aware of how many dining credits they're entitled to for the full trip.

It really shouldn't be a problem as each adult person gets the same items each day (and each child under 10 gets the same items). So if you are doing the regular DP, then it's one TS, one CS and one snack per person per day.

The Disney website shows the following for the 2010 Dining Plan.
Disney Dining Plan
With your Disney Dining Plan, for each night of your package, each Guest in your party (ages 3 and up) receives:

1 Table-Service Meal

Each table-service meal includes:

1 appetizer (Guests ages 3-9 only)
1 entrée
1 dessert (lunch and dinner only)
1 juice (breakfast only)
1 single-serving, non-alcoholic beverage
Or

1 full buffet
1 Quick-Service Meal

Each quick-service meal includes:

1 entrée
1 dessert (lunch and dinner only)
1 juice (breakfast only)
1 single-serving, non-alcoholic beverage
1 Snack

Examples of snacks are:

1 frozen ice cream novelty, popsicle, fruit bar, popcorn scoop (single-serving box), single-serving bag of snacks, single piece of whole fruit, 20-oz. bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Dasani water, 22-oz. fountain soft drink, 12-oz. coffee, hot chocolate or hot tea, single-serving prepackaged milk or juice

Thank you! We'll be eating dinners together. I just made our ADR's, so it shouldn't be a problem. Like a poster said, I want to make sure they understand that relatively inexpensive (for Disney anyway) lunch places may be considered ts. Hi to my neighbor dallastxcpa!

We will be arriving late on a Friday night and leaving by noon on Sunday. Do we have 2 get 2 days of the dining plan or can we just get one? It would be difficult to eat all that food in that short of time but we do want to eat at at least one nice/expensive sit down!!

You have to get it for the length of stay. You could always use a ts for breakfast the day you leave.

The dining plan is based on how many nights you stay, so yes, in this case you would have to get it for two nights. On the regular plan that would be 2 TS, 2 CS and 2 snacks per person for the whole trip. If you want, you can use a CS for either breakfast or lunch on Saturday, a signature meal (2 credits per person) Saturday night, and a CS for breakfast on Sunday, if you think it would be worth it to you to use dining credits this way.
