Separate beds?

Curiously, I read an article yesterday that said more and more younger couples are building homes with separate bedrooms for the purpose of strengthening their marriages.

I think separate rooms for ANY couple is a GREAT idea!
When each partner has their own room, bathroom & closet the world is a much prettier place!

I have a friend who swears separate bathrooms is a key to maintaining a relationship. I agree.

I have sleep apnea also....

One idea my ex and I looked into was twin beds on wheeled frames. When we're in the mood...we move the side table and push them together for more room to romp. When I'm tired from work and being moody...seperate works best :)

We talked about it. And then again. We made absolutely certain there were no other issues to work out underneath the obvious sleep problems. We reassured each other that we were working from the best of motives. We considered all sorts of options.

And we ended up replacing the king bed.

It has two box springs, which if necessary can be used for xl-twin beds later on. But we really didn't want to give up the pre-sleep cuddling. That was the deal-breaker.

But the VisiHusband is going to his sleep specialist on Tuesday to discuss the latest problems he's been having with his sleep apnea. Even with the mask on, and the machine going, I've been noticing him stop breathing again, just like before treatment. It's a concern.

So, thanks for all the helpful advice. If we decide to go this route someday, I've got it bookmarked, and I've got all the support we need right here. You are all, as always, great.
