Sep. 7, 2015 on the Dream

Hello All,
Just realized I have missed A LOT!!!! I thought page 1 is the most recent page so I have been checking that. oooppsss.

I had to read through quite a few pages to get caught up, but great tips along the way.

I checked in a couple weeks ago and arrival time is 10:30am. There was a question about alcohol…I suffer from migraines so no alcohol here.

Like most of you have been Disney Cruise obsessed! Cannot wait!

Speedo makes some learn to swim vests that seem like they will pack relatively flat (at least a lot flatter than the jumpers!). They have them on Amazon for around 20 bucks, so you should check them out. My youngest has passed his puddle jumper weight and I am looking to get him one. He is addicted to his puddle jumper and had a freak out when I told him he was too big for it this year.......I am a little ashamed to say I still let him use it some because he just turned 5! :guilty:
I wouldn't feel too bad about him using the puddle jumper. Anna hasn't maxed out the weight limit, but she is 6. She was terrified of the water though since she was a baby. Thankfully she is getting over that a little, but not enough to be comfortable without floatation.

I will look into those vests and see if I like them! Part of me wants to just use what DCL has and hope it doesn't cause a meltdown since they are free. Another part of me wants to use what they are familiar with. I'm probably fussing about nothing! :confused3

I've stayed at quite a few. I really have to think My favorite is probably #18 it has golf course short walk to smaller pool and short walk to bus stop, Then it would be #24 and #26. We had #50 once and hated it! It was so far from anything. We were lucky and were able to change our room. No way was I going to stay there for 10 nights you know give me something good!!! I worked on a golf course when I first started with the State and you can sit out drink coffee and critique how they were doing things. I always wanted to just go out from our patio and play a few holes.

Just saw your town on the NBC Nightly News :(

We did Legoland last year and loved it. It is a lot smaller then WDW but the rides had a nice theme to them like WDW and were fun for the kids. I think there were only 2 rides that we didn't go on because of height issues. You'll get wet on one ride but it wasn't bad enough to pack an extra outfit.[/QUOTE]
Thanks for the info :)

Have I missed the posting of the FE list? I'm getting antsy. Can't wait to finalize my last details.

We are so good with alcohol BTW!!

the list is finalized on the 1st page there are 3 groups locked in and a 4th started for anyone the wants in closer to the cruise. I believe i saw your name on the 2nd group.

We are going to Legoland 2 days before we go on the cruise wish it was WDW but hopefully we can make a nice trip there in the future
Has anyone been to Legoland if do any tips?
I have!! We had lots of fun, sometimes I hear mixed reviews but honestly my kids and I LOVED it!! We didn't get to do the water area though, trying to plan another trip there

You should have your luggage tags for ME. Included in that mailing should be your ME confirmations. As for timing, that can vary a lot. Sometimes you time a bus just as it is getting ready to leave, other times you can be in a long line and then sit on a bus for 15-20 minutes before it leaves MCO. Then it may stop at more than one resort.

So might it be better just to get a taxi? How much might that be?

Amber, silly question and no wrong answer. Just need clarification... Obviously everyone has favorite characters but, do the FE Gifts HAVE to be customized to those specific characters? One of the things I made has NOTHING to do with Disney. I have no problems at all with adjusting though.
Also, Olivia, my daughter, is celebrating her birthday on the cruise as well. She will be six.Don't know if that makes a difference. Her bday is 8/26 but instead of a party, this is her gift. Sorry for the rookie question. But thank you for the patience and help!!

The favorite characters were only put on the list because a few people requested them for their gift ideas. Your gift can be ANYTHING you want it to be, and doesn't have to relate to Disney at all.

I would think a taxi would be expensive and I don't think it would really save you that much time. It takes about 30 minutes to get there with no traffic. I hear a lot of people rent cars, but honestly I wouldn't go through all the trouble. Over the years there has often been traffic issues and the buses easily adjust their routes. I give myself 3 hours from the time we land to get to a park, but if you think about it that's not too bad. It's usually less, but that's what I feel safe planning.

For example, plane lands at 9am, ride the train to the main area of the airport, go down to the ME area, get in line for bus (The longest I've waited was 30 minutes). Then 30-45 to get to resort depending on how many stops. You are already at almost an hour and a half give or take. When you get the resort you will check in and if room available check it out (depends how busy the desk is, if room ready, and if any issues but may all take 30 or longer). Using Disney transportation they suggest allowing 45 minutes for each segment that you are traveling.

This is just how I plan my day. We may get to the parks sooner, but if something goes wrong I don't want to be stressed. One year there was a major storm that went through. There was a horrible accident with casualties on the route to WDW. All the buses rerouted and extra buses were brought in. We were heading back to the airport, and things were so backed up that bell services called us a taxi so we wouldn't miss our flights. I'm sure things were also delayed going to the resorts somewhat. I always say give yourself plenty of time!

Good to know you like 24 & 26. I was really thinking 24 & 25 would be close to everything, but back a little ways into the circle, so a little quieter. The one side of 25 would be views of hole 5 green. Thought that might be nice. Thanks for the tips :)

Your welcome and Love the new picture

Good points. We aren't doing a park on arrival day because we arrive at 430 in the afternoon. So making a 730 reservation at our resort is perfectly safe then. I do not want to spend 3 hours getting there so I'm going to look into the costs of other option. I appreciate your help!
