May need to cancel/postpone our trip :-( My father is suffering from dementia and my mom, his caregiver, just had a stroke so we're a little busy here. Just placed Dad in a continued care facility today while Mom is in rehab and not sure what the outcome will be so for now, we're in limbo.

why yes we are all kids... it just threw he off. I let him on the disboards and he finds the one post about the FE and I told him no, this group is awesome and if someone had a problem with gifting adults they would be upfront about it. i guess the conversation went on a couple pages. i plan to be in as many groups as i can and do as many group thing i can with everyone! Everyone in this group seem so sweet!

For what it's worth, I'm not on the DIS as much as used to be except for this thread. The reason is someone makes an innocent comment and other people attack. I have seen way to much negativity on the boards lately. It is possible he tumbled across one of those negative threads

I have heard about people doing adult only FE's where they traded alcohol and other adult type items. Also heard of one where people traded candy that is local to their home area.

And everyone in this group is more than sweet, lol!! Everyone on here ROCKS

All the above is correct. FE Gifts are for all that want to participate. (kids / adults etc...) It a great time for everyone The only real choice you would need to make is....Do you want to make individual gifts? (one per person) or Do you want to make a cabin gift? (one gift for the cabin) I have always seen things dropped in the pockets and no one has been left out or excluded Please tell him he will have a lot of fun. There may be more than one FE group to, many participate in more than one group.

Ok... This may sound silly but I how have to reassure my Hubby. He read a post about Different Fe's. The People were talk about how adult shouldn't be involed and how adult only rooms should be skipped and how doesn't wanna do the Fe. I've already jump both feet in and started shopping. Is this really how Fe are done. I don't wanna sound rude, but if there's not hope of getting something in my Pocket then i don't know if we'll be doing it. Please tell me so i can show him, that the post he seen were a bunch of people been spoil sports

Like others have said, our group is not doing things that way. Everyone signed up will be involved. As a matter of fact, the adult gifts are the only things that I have finished so far!! I have heard of other groups having drama, but luckily we have missed out on that here. We have an amazing group, with amazing people..... for sure!!

This is my second FE as an adult with no kids. I'm taking my folks on this trip. I've told them all about the FE and how much fun it is to put something together for each cabin. On my cruise last year I was like a little kid. Coming back to the room and seeing a gift no matter what it was just brought a smile to my face. Remember we are all kids at heart!

My mom scored an awesome gift for the little girls in our FE group yesterday. I'm as excited about helping her pass out her gifts as I am about passing out ours! lol. What fun would it be if the adults didn't get to give gifts to each other as well?

So good news y'all!! FIL is in the clear!! So many tha ks for your prayers and support! I still get goose bumps with the positive energy reading back on your posts!!

We are doing DW-Magic Kingdom after the cruise or possibly something else in Florida. Tossing up Busch Gardens, Lego Land or going to the Clearwater Marine Center (Dolphin Tale). Just depends on the funds after port excursions, shopping and tips, etc. And recommendations. Any suggestions?

Haven't checked yet to see if the second group has been assigned yet for the FE's. Just got some stuff from Hobby Lobby and JoAnne's to start making our FE and making some of the gifts now.

Ok now to the adult question... What kind of alcohol (if any) are y'all bringing? Lol!! Not looking to get trashed and be that obnoxious mom but more just to relax, unwind and enjoy being unplugged from life. Thinking wine and maybe a bottle of vodka for mixed drinks...

Been MIA again! I'm trying to catch up, and read back a few pages since the last time I posted....Did somebody say ICE CREAM SOCIAL!?!! Do we know what day/ time yet? Also, this may have been asked already but for the FE are we doing a gift per person per day? or is it just one gift per person? I dont mind either way just want to know what else everyone is doing. Also, I noticed some of you are already shopping for them...but how many families do you know to buy for or is there a list that I'm missing?
