I just can't believe it. I live in Miami, we are leaving this Monday to Orlando - 3 days before our cruise ( sep 30th). "Jeanne" - I won't ask you twice : "stay away from us, stay away from Orlando and stay away from CC". I am tired of this hurricane season. I have no idea what to do .. will DISNEY call to advise of any change of plan ? What if are in Orlando ????

We are scheduled on the 9/30 Wonder and *hopefully* we'll be at WDW for the first part of our Land/Sea HM package by Sunday. I'm curious too, if/how we'll get notified to any change of plans with the 3 night cruise.

9/30 sailor here as well!

I have to fly from Los Angeles...and I've already rebooked once because of these STUPID hurricanes - I was supposed to sail 9/9 -I just can't believe this...

So far DCL is saying that the Wonder leaving Monday the 27th will be sailing out of Port Everglades -- but it's sailing BACK to Port Canaveral...let's hope that stays true :(

YOU need to keep in contact with DCL and Disney (if you are concerned about getting on property). With the changes that are being made and the scrambling they are doing, they will not have time to call you, let alone the current cruisers, so you best bet is to call them as it gets closer to your cruise. Take the number with you when you leave home and also keep in contact and let them (and your TA if you used one) where you are and how they can contact you, just in case they do.

I just am giving this advice because we checked into the BCV and found a person whose cruise got cancelled, they were there and never received any contact and, rightfully so, was upset. We believe they may have had the land/sea but we don't know. Always good for you to keep that contact with them and not expect them to keep the contact with you.

Totally agree Cruise - I don't care if I seem like a pest - I'm going to call until I'm on that plane!!

OK, I have the number to my TA, but what is the Disney # in case I want/need updates after business hours? Does anyone have that number?
Thanks!

I just put a car on hold with Thrifty in case I need to drive from Orlando to Port Everglades! After reading what Barb (inkognito) went through on the 9/9 Wonder? I'm not taking ANY chances...and I'm sure not going to rely on DCL transportation and get there at 7pm!!! Hopefully, this will all be a moot point and we'll be going out of PC by Thursday!

I would definitely second the idea of each of you being proactive about checking for changes.

If you just do the math really quickly you can see why. With 875 staterooms for each ship, even if you allow that some of them are linked or some not booked, that makes about 1500 families that need information when something like a hurricane affects both ships. Even with TAs taking some of the load, that's a LOT of phone calls to make especially since you can pretty well count on not reaching everyone the first time.

Just my speculation but I'm guessing at least 100 man-hours to contact everyone if you allow for one third repeat calls and each call lasting about 3 minutes. Divide that by the number of qualified people they have to make those calls and you can figure out how enormous the task is.

If you're traveling to a WDW resort, I would also check on internet access so you can check the DCL website. DCL is doing MUCH better this go-around at putting pertinent information prominently on their website. They learn quickly.

The main reservation # to WDW is 407-WDISNEY. Last hurricane I was on hold for over an hour to cancel my reservation for Labor Day Weekend. Current models show hurricane force winds affected most of the state until Mon. As Kalypso knows, I'm scared since I live in central Fl.

lilpritch---We are on the 9/30 Wonder too. Please check out the 9/30 posts on the cruise meet forum. There is a bunch of us going to meet.

Assuming our house is still standing, (man, I'm worried), I'm not sure what we are going to do about getting to another port. Because chances are if we drive, we won't end up at the same port for the return.
