Just curious if anyone here or their children have sensitive hearing? My DS had an ear infection months ago and ever since it seems he's very sensitive to loud noises. We had to leave a baseball game a few weeks ago because he was so scared of the loud noises and crowd.

Wondering also how you cured it or dealt with it. I'm thinking about taking him in for a hearing test.

I have had sensitive hearing in my left ear ever since I had a bad dental experience which left me with lockjaw and TMJ over a year ago.

I still have the sensitivity, sometimes it is better than others. The doctor said it should get better with time, which I guess it has as it's not a constant pain with sensitivity and I can hear out of it again.

Good luck with your son! I hope he gets back to normal soon! I know you probably already have, but take him to an ENT to make sure that he doesn't have permanent hearing loss and to also make sure that nothing else is going on!

My dd, now 10 1/2, has extremely sensitive hearing. It's incredibly what bothers her. I took her on Dinosaur in WDW and she was in pain!!! Fireworks are a big problem. But now that she's older, she just covers her ears when she feels she needs to. But, some other kids tend to make fun of her and call her a 'baby'!!

I also have extremely sensitive hearing from TMJ and TN. I wear earplugs most of the time. Sometimes everyday noises are loud enough that I feel ill. I also have a constant static-like sound in my right ear. Very annoying.:( The wind also bothers me and I wear earmuffs all year round. It's quite a sight. If I could cut off my head, I'd be perfectly healthy.:p

Why, you wild and crazy guy.

I would suggest carrying earplugs or cotton with you until the sensitivity eases. That way if the situation arises you'd be able to filter out some of the noise. DD has pretty sensitive hearing but not to that extent.
