Hi

Has anyone else done this? How early did you start? I just did an order from American Girl as they have a good sale and had some things shipped to our hotel in Santa Barbara as the concierge said it was OK.

I am a bit worried though, about it being lost as we are not there until Dec 11th...and they are Christmas presents.

We are staying at PPH this year at DL earlier in December and I was wondering when would be OK to ship to here? (shipping etiquette!! :goodvibes)

We are currently 3 weeks out from our trip and have started buying a few bits and pieces on online to send to the hotel. We have bought things before and have already sent them to the hotel, as long as you send them an email or call them to let them know about the package, they will hold it for you, as long as you still have a reservation in your name.

I remember reading once this woman had ordered a package and sent it to a WDW hotel and it arrived 5 months before she was due to arrive. So they wil be able to hold it for as long as they need to.

Five months?? Wow!

Getting so excited. Two months out now and starting to cast my eyes over shopping websites ;) Today, looking for a 2ft Christmas tree for our room (oh the selection!) :D

ooooh, we have been thinking of getting a small tree too, where have you found a good selection?

I only looked at Target to start - just to get an idea - there were several 2 - 3ft trees (with all kinds of different options - lit, unlit, with berries, etc) to choose from. :D We do have a 2ft tree at home, I must have a look at how easy it would be just to chuck that in the suitcase!

I think I started getting mine delivered about 5 months out!! There was a DisneyStore sale and I just couldn't resist.
I did email the hotel (Hojo) to make sure it was ok, and how I should address the packages.
I think I had about 11 or 12 packages, and they all made it. It was like Christmas when we arrived!!

I read that too....

Yeah! I remember that she bought heaps! Also meant she had lots of luggage to bring home!! pirate:

I think there may have been some online shopping addiction :stir:

Have you told the hotel. seems a long time to me for them to hold parcels, I would be worried they would disappear.
I had stuff sent to WDW but only a week before we arrived.

the original post was from late September last year so not such a long time. Ordering stuff now for Christmas would be a long time to hold parcels

I've ordered a few things on Amazon, some have already arrived at the Grand Cal - I tried to send a message to let them know to hold them but no response and its past the 5 days they are meant to respond. I am hoping they wont return them. I did include the check in date on the delivery address. Should this be ok?

I don't think they will return them. I had something sent to the Contemporary that arrived without my name on it as the label had come off and they kept it. Thankfully I had a record of the tracking number as that's the only way they could locate it.
