While I was researching something for GailT I came across the following and thought I would share it with my DIS friends. I know I have seen a lot of folks who wanted to send packages to troops and I wanted to throw this out there for those who still desire to do something.

Thanks for posting the information, its great to have it all in one place like that!!

Thanks for the link. I will be shopping for lots of stuff and mail my packages, 1 male, 1 female when I get back from Disney.

Lets try to keep this bumped for everyone to see.

Again, thanks.

You may want to put this on the new, "United we Stand" board also.:D

Thanks for the link.......will go shopping today and tomorrow anyways, so will pick up a few extras and will send pkg's off when we can fill one ( or more ) up.

Just wanted to give this thread a bump. This program now has 336 contact soldiers in seven countries touching over 18,000 soldiers serving in harms way. You don't send money; you send "support" directly to a volunteer soldier who puts it into the hands of a soldier who is receiving little or no mail. They appreciate whatever you send—letters, care packages, phone cards, etc. The site is moderated by a veteran and father of an active duty soldier. Check it out at www.AnySoldier.us.

Freedom isn't free. Just ask any soldier.

Thanks, DISers!

Just wanted to say that they love letters, post cards, etc. just as much as any stuff you send. So you don't need to spend a lot of money to support the troops, some kind words on a postcard goes a long way

Thank you for posting this link. I used the "what to send" faq to get some ideas of what DH could use. Now I'll just make up double packages each time and send the other one over to "any soldier."

Sad to think that some of our guys feel forgotten over there... :(

I sent to them awhile ago and I got a letter back a couple of weeks ago! It was very nice and gratifying... not cheap to send overseas, but definitely worth it!
I sent old magazines, because some of them are just sitting around bored- they were so grateful. :)

It really was a great thing; I'm going to send again when I round up some extra funds =P
