Is it possible to send packages via UPS or the Post Office from a Disney resort? We'd like to send some of our souvenirs home ahead of us.

If it possible, does Disney tack on a charge in addition to actual postage? I imagine they charge for boxes and packing materials...

we stayed cr concierge and they shipped something for us i dont remember the exact charge but i dont believe they charged any more than if we had done it ourselves. im sure wherever you are staying they will be able to help you.

The front desk can send UPS and/or Fed Ex. There is no charge for the boxes or packing materials but... you have to get the boxes yourself (packing tape is avalaible at the front desk). You can go to the Gift store and ask if they have any boxes (or call housekeeping and ask if they have boxes) they usually do and will happily save them for you. There is an add on shipping fee of $6.50 to all UPS packages (above and beyond the UPS charge). I believe Fed Ex is the same but most people ship UPS so I can't say for sure.

I do this all the time via Fed Ex and its a great feature! Disney doesn't tack on anything else, not when I've shipped things; just ask them for boxes, etc., and you'll be set...I actually had a manager pack my things and I signed the papers and away I went! :jester:

They will also ship stuff directly from the shops. If you are shipping out of state, they don't charge tax, which offsets the shipping some. We always do a big shopping trip at the end and have them ship the items home. Of course, we still buy stuff during the week and have to make room in our luggage....

We just got back and shipped a lot of stuff back from the stores at which they were bought. The cost for UPS ground was about $10.00 to California for each package. Since we were shipping out of state no sales tax was charged, so that helped make up the shipping charges. We sent the first box home on Friday the 7th and it was waiting for us when we returned on the 18th. I think it's a great convenience that I don't mind paying for.

I shipped (UPS) a box home from the business center at Coronado Springs. They did charge me for the box.

What we did was take all of our purchases that we had made everywhere and anywhere at WDW (each purchase must be accompanied by it's original receipt) to the gift shop at our resort. They took and wrapped everything up for shipping and tallied the total of all our receipts. They bagged everything together and tied it all up so that it would all be boxed later by a cast member. The shipping was regular UPS ground service and the cost is based on your total merchandise tally. I think it cost me around $13.00 for the shipping. According to the cast member they will only ship merchandise that has been purchased at WDW. I have done this on both of our last trips and it sure makes it easy not having to worry about how to get it to fit in our suitcases or the luggage weight due to airline regulations. One thing, if you run into a cast member that is not familiar with how to do this just get a manager. They will know what to do. Another option and where I actually learned about this service is "Once Upon A Toy" at DTD. They told me that you can bring all your items to them and they will ship it for you too.

WOW! That is great info. I thought the $100.00 had to be from one store.

I'm trying to just pack carry-ons this trip, but couldn't figure out how to get our purchases home.

My DH bought 2 coffee mugs at a store in the AKL and had them UPS'd to us at home straight from the gift shop.

It can be done almost anywhere.

Granted...I almost killed him for doing that. I mean...shipping 2 coffee mugs? I'm sure we could have made room for them in our luggage.
I look fondly every morning at my very expensive AKL mugs.

We try to save most of our shopping until the end of our stay and then go to DTD and shop at the huge Disney store there. My AP got me a 10% discount there, then since we shipped the stuff home, there was no tax. The lack of tax made up for the shipping charges and I still saved money with the discount. I think it took about a week for my stuff to get home. Very convenient.
