Sending out a big AKL thanks! :)

I decided to cough up the money and buy my fiancee and I a trip to Disney World for her ThanksGiving/Halloween/BirthDay/XMas/NewYears present. She has been scoping out where to stay at WDW if we ever did go and immediately her eyes fell on the AKL.

So of course I go and put in the request for a standard view room at the AKL and it was denied. (we are going on Dec.7-17th) So then I requested a room at the WL and it was also denied...

So then the panic set in. It was either upgrade to the Sav. view rooms for another $1000 or to -downgrade- to a different hotel. Well after reading some extremely informative posts from people here (Janet2K is a godsend) I finally made up my mind with upgrading to the sav. view room at AKL.

My fiancee almost snapped my spine she was so excited, and I have to say that I am extremely happy and comfortable with the decesion to spend the extra money and upgrade all because I read the things said here in this forum.

Thanks to everyone in this Forum for being so helpfull that most guide books are put to shame!

How exciting!!! We were at the AKL/savannah view in April and loved it!! I recommend Zebra trail facing the Arusha rock savannah, 2nd floor.

We were in room 5517 and had a great view. It is Zebra Trail Arusha Savannah. If you wanted to be a little lower but tin the same area the rooms are in order try 2217

Im not sure where our room is going to be located. All I know is that its supposed to be a Sav. View with a King size bed

I think you'll be very happy with a savannah room at AKL. We were there in August and had a wonderful view from our 5th floor rooms. I don't recall which trail it was, but the animals were fed each morning and evening right below us. There was something so fascinating about watching those animals (especially at night), that we would hate to stay anywhere else in the future. We usually watch television when we're in a hotel room, but with the animals right beyond our balcony, we spent almost all of our in-room time watching them. I don't think we even turned the television on during our five-day stay. My elderly parents were particularly enchanted. I noticed that when we returned to the room, my father would make a bee-line straight to the balcony to "see what the animals were up to". We've stayed at several of the Disney resorts and, in some ways, I thought AKL captured the essence of Disney magic better than any other Disney resort.
