Sending money to your acct in advance

Can you put money in your shipboard account in advance?

I don't know if this is a silly question...

Yes, you can. We did this for our 3/04 cruise and it was great! Just call the DCL number and you can add whatever amount you'd like. I would call every week and add a little bit to our account until I got to where I wanted it to be!

What is the number? We have gone through a TA for everything . I also want to call them and inquire about my docs! We are leaving in 2 weeks and don't have them yet (the TA said that they would come directly to us). Worried!! I have a little bit of extra money and wanted to make sure that it got there instead of being spent here!

You can call 1-800-601-8455, onboard credits can be applied in denominations of at least $25.00 each.

Hours of operation is M/F 8am to 10pm EST and S/S 9am to 8pm EST.

We did this the last time and it was really nice to have the extras almost paid for....
HOWEVER... Bring a copy of your credit card bill that has these on them. It all worked out in the end but what was a 4 day ongoing crusade could have been settled in 5 minutes had I had the bills/receipts showing the payment to my onboard acct.
DCL does NOT send youreceipts perse so your cc bills are good to have.

Thanks for the info I have already called them and prepaid! And when I did the lady told me that I had $50 first time booking credit and $50 credit from my TA!! How nice!

I asked my TA about first time booking onboard credit and she said there wasnt such a thing

Thanks for the info on the pre shipboard credit. Looks like this would make it a lot easier to send in money instead of waiting till the end of the cruise to pay for everything. Thanks Verandahman for the phone number.

I thought I read somewhere that this was standard. You might want to call them (Disney) and ask. I also paid with a MasterCard which they might have been having a promotion at the time. Not sure about that. Either way, when I called the TA had put two $25 credits on board and the lady told me about it then put me on hold and came back and said it was supposed to be a surprise from my TA so to act surprised! I thought it was funny.

I am glad I added the money. As long as it is out of my account I cannot spend it!

This may sound dumb but can you pay for your onboard account with disney dollars? Our cruise isn't for a couple of years so rather than carry that many old credit card bills, can we bring a bunch of disney dollars?

Once you get on the ship, take your Disney Dollars to Guest Services and you can apply them to your onboard account.
