Sending droid to hotel?

DH is building a droid on our next trip but our res is 12pm and we will be in HS until the fireworks. He won't want to give up his newly built droid for delivery for an hour or so because I'm sure he will want to play with it first lol. So 2 questions;
1. Can you delay delivery to the hotel room or does it have to be at time of purchase?
2. How careful is Disney with fragile items, would it be safer to carry it around?
Any tips would be great.

1. Can you delay delivery to the hotel room or does it have to be at time of purchase?

When ready to send the droid, go to any shop with the receipt and ask to send it to your Resort.

The droid will be delivered to the shop at your Resort and you’ll need to pick it up there - usually sometime in the afternoon the day after you’ve purchased it.

Kind of in the same vein, will they send it to the front of the park from any shop?

We sent ours to the hotel without any issues at all.
