Calling All Disney Fans with a Love for Wood Carvings!

We spent a wonderful (and much needed) day off at California Adventure and Disneyland this year.

Our grandson, Waylon, was pretty much convinced….Big Al is the real deal. Waylon was blowing bubbles and giggling when the bubbles hit Big Al’s face.

Being a grandpa is pure joy.

How many of you think you enjoy Disney more than your kids and grandkids?

Have you ever spotted a stunning wood carving while strolling through the parks or resorts? Maybe it’s tucked into a cozy corner of Adventureland, nestled in the wilderness of Frontierland, or part of a grand display in one of Disney’s resorts. Wherever it is, I want to see it!

Let’s celebrate the magic and craftsmanship of Disney’s woodwork. Post your favorite pictures of wood carvings you’ve discovered across Disney parks, resorts, or even Disney-themed items you treasure at home. Whether it’s a detailed animal carving, a decorative panel, or a fun sign—share the magic and the story behind it!

Bonus points if the carving makes you think of something uniquely Disney or has a personal memory tied to it. Let’s turn this thread into a gallery of awe-inspiring craftsmanship and Disney memories!

Who’s got a favorite to share? Drop your pics below—can’t wait to see what you’ve found!

I think this is actually wood, but sometimes I suppose the wood look could be faked with other materials so I can't say for sure. The whole of the Tiki room is fantastic and every visit takes me back to my childhood as it has been largely the same for decades. Huge part of the charm is all the carving work both inside and out in the Polynesian style.
