ok heres a off the wall question for ya! we live in Tampa and are planning a weekend getaway to the world! ( we are ap's) hubby is a truck driver and is going with us! the plan is he will be home in time to park rig and go! back up plan is..... where at Disney or very near by should I look at for parking his Rig? its just shy of 70 feet! any suggestions!! Don't want to have to wait around for him when I could be laying at the pool!!

:thumbsup2 First off, kudos to the hubby for being a truck driver and double kudos to you for being a truck driver's wife! Both are tough jobs, but the satisfaction is worth it...

Call the resort where you are staying..explain the situation and the length of the rig..Oftentimes they have dedicated areas for RVs to park and will probably allow him to park there with prior approval. If not at the resort, then ask them to recommend an area.
Good luck! And have fun!!!!

There's probably a truck stop somewhere in the area. If he can't park there, surely they could give him some ideas.

This is just me guessing so take this all with a grain of salt .... BUT ... there is a Flying J on US 27 in Haines City (about 20 minutes away). He could either A) park the whole rig there or B) Drop the trailer and then Bob Tail to the park where I assume he would be directed to the RV/Bus lots that are available.

Back in the day I know Walmart used to allow Rig parking but not sure if they do now, there is a Walmart on 192 just east of I4 ... 3250 Vineland Rd. Kissimmee FL 407-397-1125

Most resorts allow RV parking in the back of the lot. You could also ask at Ft Wilderness in the overflow lot. I have seen oversize vehicles parked in the back of the parking lots for the parks (MK or Epcot are the easiest).

I know there's a lot next to the MK parking lot (it used to be an old runway), and Disney parks their rigs there and some oversize vehicles. However, I don't know who you would talk to about that.

I'd start with a call to the hotel directly and talk to a manager. I'm sure Disney will find some way to be accommodating.

Just keep in mind that a big rig is at least 10-15 ft longer than your average RV (I'm sure OP knows this, but just so that others have a better idea when making suggestions). A lot of Bus/RV lots aren't big enough for the semi to maneuver in. A Truck/bus/RV lot is the best bet to accommodate the semi, and I don't know if Disney has those.

Also, dropping the trailer off in a different parking lot or truck stop is not the best idea. Even with tons of security measures it is ridiculously easy to steal a trailer. Happens to our clients all the time.

The parks have tractor/trailer listed on their signs. It is $18 but if you are staying in a resort... it's FREE. I have a buddy who often stops at WDW. He parks his rig at Epcot. He said at Epcot they direct you to a great parking area that is close to the entrance. He leaves his truck there and uses Disney transportation for the next few days. I don't know how long his truck/trailer is but his trailer is 53'.

When checking in he should get a parking pass printed and then find a lot at the resort that is empty most of the time. Probably can't park it at any of the monorail resorts but plenty of room at Pop and at some of the super large resorts. You probably can also park it in the FW parking lot. Tell the resort you have two vehicles and that is one. Let them work it out. I am sure they can accommodate you. Like i said, at Pop i know for a fact some of the outer parking lots have tons of empty spots and this is over Christmas time when they are seriously busy.
