One of the biggest problems and complaints we get is the speed of the boards and load times. We are constantly trying to balance different factors. We often have discussions on dial up vs. cable modem, DSL, etc and how much dial up is still around.
Could you please help us by indicating your connection speed?
If you have different speeds at home and at work please indicate the one that you use most.
Thanks!

We have a cable modem that I have set up on a wireless network. DH doesn't DIS ( but LOVES Disney! :teeth: ) but he and I are often online at the same time and I find no degredation of speed when we are both on. I am going to add his TiVo to the wireless network this week but that shouldn't effect the speed much, either.

DSL all the way. Love that DH and I can DIS at the same time.

I voted dial up - really bad. I'm currently connected at 46,666 which is pretty normal for me. That's why I still keep all signatures etc. shut off. I feel a lot less "connected" to people here because I don't have their info/ pictures up, but that's the price I pay.

Cable modem(RoadRunner-Time Warner) for the last 3 years and would NEVER

go back to dial up.

Cable at work and "lite" DSL at home

Charter cable here - 2.0 mbps. T-1 if I'm at work but the speed is definitely better at home.

Full T-1 onecat? You need to have a chat with your IT guys if it's slower than cable!

Alex - I think there's just too much contention at work. The internet can get really slow from there. Our cable connection at home is very snappy, never a delay.

It's possible if you work at a really big company or everybody is doing streaming audio all day :)
A more likely reason is a really lousy old proxy server or just a bad T-1 line, you would be amazed how common that is!
That all assumes it is a real full t-1 line a lot of companies say "T-1" but it's a fractional line or it is split with the phone system

There are hundreds of people - maybe even thousands on this t-1. The network people there are fantastic so I'm sure there are no technical problems.
