aloha everyone. i've been in california for approximately a week on business. i've been able to visit DLR about four times, after 3 pm on most days but got to spend the whole day on saturday. now i'm in san diego, but am going back to orange county tomorrow. (yay its open late)

some highlights/thoughts from each day

tuesday: it seems like they've cut back on the halloween decor this year. i went on haunted mansion holiday, which was cool, and they have a few small changes from last years version, but i won't ruin the surprise for anyone. it was blazing hot, so splash mountain was busy. thank goodness for single rider. i did notice that prices for food went up, like at the golden horseshoe, and i think turkey legs were more expensive than last time i was here (april)

wednesday: just went to californian hotel and DCA. the nachos from the white water snacks were amazing. yum. i only had a short time, so i was only able to go on two rides. toy story mania was awesome. i was the highest scorer out of the four scores i could see. lots and lots of fun. woot.

friday: went for a few hours, but didn't ride much. it seemed pretty busy, and i was too lazy to wait in any line. checked out the innoventions house of the future. apparently houses in the future will be furnished with tons of digital frames. it was kind of cold that night

saturday: my friend came in the night before for gay days, so we headed to the park really early, around opening. i tried to get there early before the park opened, but my friend wasn't having it. fortunately lines were short and we got to every ride by mid day. the only one we hadn't got to was indy because it continually was breaking down. by the time we got on in the afternoon, the wait was 75 minutes. we got lunch at the blue bayou. my friend is vegan, and they were very helpful in accomodating. i was also able to get the cheese only monte cristo. it was definitely a disappointment, but at least it was cool to sit by the water. by the afternoon, it was busy and lots of red shirts :thumbsup2

sunday: i went to six flags this day. inevitably, i end up comparing everything to disneyland. i knew i wouldn't fit on every ride, so i sat out a lot (i'm big bone/pooh size). the ones i did go on were fun, especially viper. i'm getting too old for the rides though, as i started feeling sick, especially after goliath. its fun, i guess, but i like themed rides and clean parks, so it made me long for disneyland.

i'm going again for the next week and a half. i'll let everyone know what's going on.

Sounds like you are having a great time! Magic Mountain is pretty great for roller coaster type rides. For true magic, there is only one place, and that's Disneyland.
