I just spoke to a representative at DCL and was told that for the eastern cruises (not sure about Western):

Semi-Formal night is now Sunday and the name has been changed from The Chef's Series to "The Best Of".

Formal night is Thursday, "Captain's Gala".

Thank you for posting this info....we had read about recent cruisers experiencing this change but was not sure if it was permanent.

I will update my charts soon to reflect the swap of nights and the new name for the Chef Series...

If any future Western cruisers can confirm from DCL that this is a permanent change on the Western as well, please let me know and I will also update the Western chart.

Thanks again.

No problem. I had read a few posts noting a change so I wanted to call to find out for sure. Trying to plan ahead for schedules, ie. Palo, kids club, etc.
I didn't even think to ask about the Western cruises. :(

Not sure if it is permanent but on the 3/15 western cruise semi-formal was on Monday night and formal was on Thursday.

Padre Disney....wow...didn't realize it has been switched for so long already on the Western...I would think if it has not gone back to what it was, then the change must be permanent...for the time being!!!

Do you remember if they also changed the name of Master Chef to "Best Of" on the Western?

I will update the Western Chart. The Eastern is already done...here is a link if anyone wants to see it.

Once at the site change view from FIT WINDOW to NORMAL for easier reading.

Dave & Jennifer at PassPorter had gotten a "heads-up" that the Master Chefs Series dinner was going to be renamed "Best of..."; they mentioned that in their "PassPorter Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line".

Thanks for the heads-up about switching Formal and Semi-Formal nights.

Thanks for all the info.....I will change the Western chart as well!!! I never got to read my Passporter....bought it and my friend loved it so much she took it on her cruise with her and decided to keep it!!! I just ordered another one for myself!!!

Just updated the planning pages in my Passporter! Will help in planning for other events. With a teenage girl need to make sure "adequate" time is allowed for getting ready and why do I think getting ready for a formal dinner will take her longer than semi-formal?
