Is there a way to sell my gift card so that I can get at least a partial refund? I'm not planning on flying anytime in the future so there is no reason to save the gift card.
Selling airline gift cards/credits on ebay is a violation of their TOS. Don't bother. You lose seller protection because of the violation (they will list your item but remove it when they do their sweep). Also, you are susceptible to fraud when you lose their protection.
I'm not planning on selling my southwest gift card on ebay. Thanks for the advice not to though.
My southwest gift card is only for $50. I'm looking for a website that will either exchange it for another gift card or give me partial value for it. I know there are sites out there, just wondering which web sites DIS readers recommend using.
Maybe a "Travel Credit" is handled differently than a gift card, but I sold mine on eBay with no issues at all. I got nearly full price for it, and the buyer and I were both happy, and no issues with eBay.
I've had good luck selling unwanted gift cards with Plastic Jungle. They've paid me reliably and relatively quickly. They even pay for you to mail the cards in.
Do what you want, but in addition to being against DIS rules, this is just plain way too risky for me. There's no way to know what a disser is like in real life, and there's absolutely NO recourse if they don't send your payment.
