selling on ebay

I have some things I'd like to list on ebay. I was thinking of doing them now since dd is home from college and can help me. But then i was wondering if sales for non-essentials would be down on ebay for awhile after Christmas.

It's not only that, but there is a some promotion going on where listings are incredibly cheap this time of year, so everyone in the world dumps thousands of extra listings onto eBay, so that makes bids lower, generally.

This could also be the time where people get what they didn't get for Xmas and a lot cheaper.

If you want to hold off on listing the items, you could have your dd help you write down the descriptions & html codes & pics for each item and place them into individual documents. Then when you want to list your items, open the documents & just copy & paste the descriptions into the ebay auction pages.

how long would you hold off? How long is the promo going on? Thanks guys.
These things aren't really christmas gift things. They are car parts and home schooling text books.

When I was intensely selling on eBay, one year I started in Feb. & did really well. It's that lull after holidays are well over & people can start shopping for themselves again.

Not sure about the textbooks though. You might have to wait till right before a school term when people might be looking for these more.
