hi, all.
A friend of ours is looking at selling their SSR points & we are very interested. So I'm wondering, is this a process we can do just the 2 of us, or does it still have to go through Disney for ROFR? Is there a way to just transfer the title from them to us, thereby not having to pay commission, or any ways of cutting down on closing costs?
Thanks for any & all info!!

It can be done and yes it still has to go through ROFR. You should go Disney direct and inquire. You should probably use one of the timeshare title companies. The seller will bypass the broker fees when buying/selling resale as well.

I should think after it passes ROFR that a quit claim deed filed with the respective county would suffice, and bypass the closing company. A filing fee applies, of course.

Getting the ROFR process completed is very eary. Just a reminder that my info suggests it's illegal in FL, and most states, to agree to one price but put another on the contract. You can do all of this yourself with a quit claim deed for a cost of under $50 if it's a single contract. There's all several companies that will get it done for your for between $100 and $275 if you need it. It can be win-win for both of you in many situations.
