Yes unless it is under 14 ounces. First Class mail is actually cheaper than media mail for anything under 14 ounces. I do always add delivery confirmation no matter how I ship it.

I shipped my textbooks media mail and they reached the buyers within a week! I was surprised!

I think I'll take my other books over to Half.com, they haven't budged on Amazon. LOL Those bookcases have to go!

Thanks, I shipped media after they quoted $34.xx and $10.xx for the other shipping options. I actually went to two different post offices because the first one quoted $8.xx for media and said that it would take 2-3 weeks. I paid $2.82 for media + .80 for confirmation at the 2nd PO.

If you are going to sell often then you may want to look into printing postage at home. You can do it through Paypal or on the USPS site. All you need is a digital scale so that you can get the correct weight (always round UP to the nearest whole number). Super easy and saves a wait in line for the post office!

The first PO probably gave you a parcel post rate. Media and Parcel are the same class of mail, but parcel has no restrictions on what can be sent.
