I'm looking for a new digital camera. I'm looking for one primarily to shoot pics of the kids and on vacations, like Disney! And of course, to be able to upload gorgeous pics to Facebook, :rotfl:

Anyway, the camera I'm looking for should have the following features:

*able to shoot indoors/low light
*able to shoot fireworks
*action shots like rides or my kids running around
*able to shoot video
*compact/lightweight
*crisp/clear shots
*ability to zoom
*able to "recover" fast enough from taking a pic that I can keep shooting!
*easy to upload to computer

Hopefully, under $200. Please share your experiences with me!:surfweb:

Thanks, I will. Didn't think about the photography thread! Guess I was thinking about price...:scared1:

I'll check it out! :thumbsup2

If you want control more of pictures, one with manual setting would be better.
Also for fireworks, a setting really doesn't mean anything if the camera isn't stable. They require a slow shutter speed, so really a tripod is the best way to take fireworks.
I have a good point and shoot, but it's on the fritz now that it is several years old. I too want to find a good point and shoot, but having a hard time finding one with manual settings anymore. Plus a fast recovery time after flash. I rarely use flash, but sometimes you have to and I hate the waiting my camera makes me do.

We've had this for about 2 years...we LOVE it. It's been to WDW with us twice, I'm really pleased with it. I love the touch screen! The really nice thing is that it has internal storage for your pics, along with the slot for the memory stick. It's easy to use and it's very slim so it's easy to take along or put in a pocket if need be. There's a newer version out too, you might want to check that out too.

HTH!

If you find one that does all of the below for $200 let us know. My guess is that you will need a DSLR to do all the functions you are wanting AND it will run $500 or more.

An Olympus stylus tough! It is waterproof and we loves it in our trips because it doesn't matter if we are under water or if it is raining we still can take pictures.
And we don't have to worry about the camera when we go on water rides.

Nikon CoolPix s6000 :) Picked it up for 229..00 the other week but googled it at 195.00 right now :)
