We will be traveling to WDW in December 2006. I wanted to surprise my DH with a vow renewal ceremony, but it is much too expensive. We will be traveling with my parents and my dad is an ordained minister. Does anyone know if Disney has a policy against a small, private ceremony that we conduct ourselves?

Im not 100% sure but i doubt Disney would let you hold your own vow renewal ceremony on their property no matter how small!

If money is the issue have you looked into the swan weddings/renewals as they are cheaper?

While Disney frowns on vow renewals not planned through DFTW, per se, I would think it would be much easier for you since your dad is a minister. If you are all on the balcony of your motel and your father does a vow renewal ceremony for you, no one is going to know. If you go to the beach in a full wedding dress and tuxedo and your dad in his pastoral robes, you would probably get caught and have problems.

So, if you keep it low key, you will probably be okay.

You have to go through DFTW unless it is in your room (or balcony). Then they can't stop you. However, if anyone sees you performing a ceremony anywhere else on the property, they'll stop you. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want that as a vow renewal memory! Good luck :)

Thank you all so much for the imput! Maybe a nice little balcony ceremony would be fine :scratchin
