I did the disney college program fall 2010 and self termed after graduation on dec 20th and my program ended jan 7th. I had to go home for family reasons. Does anyone know if I am on teh no-hire list now? I had one repremand but that's all. I was wondering becuase I applired to the Disney Store in NYC and I wanted to make sure I can get in. Also if I am on teh no -hire list is it only for Orlando and/or the parks? I didn't know if a disney store was under the same thing. Also my repremand wasnt for anything serious just attendance.
I gave them the interst form and they want me to come in for a group interview on the 24th or march. they doin't have you fill out an application just an interest form and then the ydo a backround check on you. But they already have my interview schedlued, he did scheduled it right when i handed in my form. I told him I used to work at Magic Kingdom and he seemed happy about that. What do you guys think? Will he call and cancel and tell me i'm on the no hire list?

My room mate was termed for a housing violation (and only through association, she did not technically do anything wrong), and was told that she can still re-apply. She would have only been on the no-hire list if she had been termed for a workplace issue.

I do not know how that would translate for self-termination, but I thought I'd just share that termination is not equivalent to being on the no-hire list,it's all dependant on the reasons. So you still have hope!

Hopefully someone can give you a better answer!

First off I had to self term from the same exact progam. I'm currently a restricted rehire and trying to get back down there for a CP. I've heard you normally will be restricted if you self term. But as to your question about the Disney Store they are in 2 seperate sides of the company. The theme parks are in the theme parks and resorts section. Not sure what Disney store qualifies as but its not Resort/Parks. So I think you would have a favorable hire status with them. It wouldn't be a rehire unless you worked for a Disney Store once. I could be wrong but I think thats how it works out. If you can't be rehired they will explain to you why and what you need to do inorder to be rehired. So it's not like you'll be left in the dark. :thumbsup2

Best of luck to you and if I am wrong about the different sections of the company I apologize but I think I read thats how it works once on this site.

Thank you both very much for the help. I hope that I am able to get this job because I am having such withdrawals from Disney :(

A little clarification...as mentioned, the Disney Store is a division of the Walt Disney Company (Consumer Products) and Parks/Resorts are another division. If you receive a restricted re-hire from one division, it applies to all divisions of the company. I used to work for the stores...one of my friends was fired from the store while I worked there and received a no-rehire status. She was unable to then be employed with the Parks a year later when she tried to apply due to her status when she was employed with the Stores. If you received a restricted rehire from the parks and then apply to the stores, you may find you will need to fill out some paper work regarding the rehire status even though you have never worked at the stores at all. I don't think you will have any trouble being hired at the Store, you may just need to take some extra steps in the process. However, if they are in need of castmembers, they may bypass the rehire paperwork altogether. During my time with the stores I found that each store manager operates differently and sometimes will overlook certain aspects when hiring (I worked in two different stores and worked with a total of 4 different store managers).

All stores are now required to do a background check which I was told takes up to two weeks to complete.

Again, I don't think you will have too much trouble getting hired at the Store and since you have been with the company before, even though you self-termed, it still may work in your favor. One of my managers loved getting castmembers who had previously been with the company before.

Good luck.

I had to self-term from the spring 2010 program, and I just talked with my manager before I left, and she made sure that I was okay to re-hire. I am a stay-at-home mom right now, but I am hoping to work at Disney again someday!

I will note though, that I actually gave a two-week notice and talked with my leaders, I didn't just leave. I think that made the difference. And I really think that it depends what you are leaving for...

I was a CP for Fall 2009 (I started in June), and part of Spring 2010 (I extended, but then had to leave due to family situation).

I called casting in Orlando and they said I am on the restricted hire list. But she said there is no set time I will be on the list, but if the disney store wants to hire me then they will tell me what i need to do to get that status lifted. So hopefully they want me and I can just fill out paper work!

You normally have to have a steady job for 6 months and wait for 6 months after the date you left. (Thats for the CP so it will probably be close to the same for Disney Store.)
