Self-Serve Dole Whip @ Poly

I've been hearing about how great Dole Whip is for years, but have not tried it myself yet. We don't have any plans to go to the parks anytime soon, but were thinking about going up to DTD for the day and maybe having dinner at Kona Cafe. I just read that the Polynesian has self-serve Dole Whip at Capt. Cook's.

- I assume we could go over there and get one for dessert, correct?
- Are they pretty much open all the time?
- When they say "self-serve", they don't mean all-u-can eat, like the drink stations, do they?

Captain cooks is open the same hours as any other cafeteria in the resorts so you should have no problem going there after dinner at Kona. It is not all you can eat but you can fill up your cup as full as you want. They also have your choice of vanilla, pineapple or both.

Capt Cook's is open 24 hrs! Definately grab one after dinner.

Good luck, and if you really like them, do what we did - we bought all the stuff to make dole whips at home (for our DS' birthday) ! They're not quite as good here at home, but we figure that in the winter, the main difference is only about 50° !!

We did this the week of the 2-6. I was disappointed because it was pineapple, vanilla, or swirl. I love the orange dole whips. It left us wanting more which we FORGOT to get when we were at the MK. What were we thinking!!!!!! Hope this helps. To me the pineapple had an odd flavor.

We have a soft serve ice cream machine and I was thinking about getting the mix, but I want to try it and make sure I like it first.

Not all you can eat but pretty darn close. I once some some talented guy build a Dole Whip that stood about 12" tall.
