who don't show up when scheduled tick me off. Plumber is 2.5 hrs late. I figured maybe he had an emergency. I called him & can totally tell he forgot. But he's on his way now. Right.....like I was born yesterday.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. :headache: :headache:

Don't get me started. My (soon to be ex-) contractor was SCHEDULED TO START renovating my kitchen on September 15th. So, I see your 2.5 hours and raise you 6 weeks!

You have WAY more patience than I would have. WOW!!!!

I hate sitting here waiting. I've got laundry I was going to do after he left. I didn't start it when he was late because I didn't know if he would be turning off the water. I've also got some batch cooking to do, again, I didn't know about the water.

He's messing with my schedule!

He did have one delay that wasn't his fault (he needed a permit specific to Queens (a county in New York City) that was requested by my building, which takes about 4 weeks to process (I called the Dept. of Buildings). Other than that, I have to call him once a week to find out the status. But, all said and told, he should have started weeks ago. I am speaking to him this afternoon and requesting that the contract be voided.

For someone who has good references and no marks at the Better Business Bureau, I am surprised at his attitude. I understand he probably got a better job and bumped me, but he should have told me instead of stringing me along.

I completely agree with you.

My guy finally showed. Finished & is now gone. 3:30pm and now I can start the things I needed water for. ugh.

This kind of thing makes me crazy. DH and I both work full time and can't be sitting around waiting for somebody to maybe-show-up. We really need repairs/renovations done on our house but have not had good luck finding reliable people!

With the economy tanking, you would think contractors would be a little more eager to keep their customers.

DH is self-employed repairing/networking computers in people's homes and businesses. His schedule can be very erratic--sometimes jobs take him a lot longer than he expects, and he runs late or has to cancel. But he calls people--he doesn't just no-show.

I think he had a speaking engagement with some old dude in Ohio.
