Has anyone been on one of the SEGWAY tours? If so, can you tell me the basics of whats involved with the tours? I believe there is one at EPCOT and one at FORT WILDERNESS, which would you recommend? Also, is there anywhere you can go to just try-out a SEGWAY? Thank you.

I have 4 Segway Tours booked thru Z.E. Tours in Celebration. We are going to do that in December. I was fortunate enough to get them for half off so I have less than $100 in the tour. We are really looking forward to this!:yay:

I went on the Epcot Segway tour and it was one of the highlights of my trip. I got to get into the park early, ride around on a Segway with a small group and learn little things about my personal favorite area of WDW.

In... Innovations (I'm not sure which one) you can try out a Segway if you wish. (+

I've been on the WS EPCOT tour and the FW tour. They were both good for different reasons. The WS one was cool to travel through the WS without other guests and learn some facts. The FW one was longer, you got to go a bit faster on the off-road Segways and you had a bit more freedom than staying in one tight group. You got to see some cool behind the scenes stuff around FW too.

hubby went on the one in epcot in 2005 and loved it. back then it was 2 hrs? and around 80 dollars. he loved it! he got a special seguway pin and came back with little tidbits of knowledge. i wish i had joined him, but seeing as i am the biggest clutz to walk the face of the earth, it wasn't happening. i could almost read the head lines if i had! lol

and yes as a pp stated there is a part in future world innovations i believe that you can test ride one on a small course.

Thanks for all the info, now we just need to decide which tour to go on. Right now I am leaning toward the FW for 2 reasons, 1) we have only been over there once, for the Backyard BBQ. 2) I think if we fall off, the dirt will be more forgiving than the concrete at EPCOT.:headache:

Also, how far in advance should we make the reservations? We will be arriving Oct. 26th and leaving Nov.5th.

I have done both the WS and FW tours. One thing I would add in ... it seems like the training was more in depth for the Epcot tour. I was worried about falling because I am not always graceful. I think the one at FW would have made me very nervous if I did it first. The training was much shorter. It didn't bother me because I already knew what I was doing, but one lady had a hard time getting comfortable in that short period of time.

I am not sure how far in advance you to book.

Have fun either way!

My husband did the test drive of the segway in Innovations. It only runs during certain times like from 1-?. You had to meet the weight and age requirements.
My husband was really excited to try it out and after riding it said it wasn't what he thought and glad he tried it first before booking a tour. He still had fun though. They were really good about making sure we got a picture of him riding it. Earlier in the day I saw the people who took the tour practicing which was cool and informative.

Last December I took the Around the World Segway tour at Epcot. I took the first tour of the day which was before Epcot opened. Its a 2 hour tour. One hour of training and one hour riding around the World Showcase. Be sure to bring your camera! You get to stop when you get to Italy to take pictures! (CMs will take pics of you on the Segway!) At first, riding the Segway was harder than I thought it would be , but by the end of the 1 hour training, I felt very comfortable riding it. :thumbsup2 The training part is very thorough! Some of the training is done as a group, some of it is on-on-one with one of the 2 CMs. The tour was definitely a highlight of my trip! I didn't want it to end!

I think you can book the tours 90 days in advance, but I'm not positive.. anyways, since you're going in October, just give Disney a call now. :)

The Segway Tour is great fun, even if, like me, you race into a curb and fly through the air into the concrete. Those helmets are on you for a reason! No traffic ticket for wrecking, however, and I tottered back on for the rest of the ride. Our teenager took great delight in teasing me for the rest of the trip!
