Just was wondering if anyone has taken the Segway Tour and what did they thing of it. DH and I took one last year and absolutely fell in love with it. Even with my disability (severe arthritis in neck, knees, hips, etc.), I was able to control it. Got some leg numbness but just ignored it because I was feeling like a kid again on it! The CM's that do the tour are wonderful, showing you exactly how to operate it and are extremely patient if you don't get it right away. The tour they took us on through Epcot Worlds was fun and informative also.

Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an "outside the box" Disney experience!:cool2: :moped:

My wife and I did the tour last July. We had a blast and had a great time. We also learned some interesting things about world showcase. I would definately do it again and recommend it to anyone.

I did it once and LOVED it. It was so much fun and great to go through the WS before it opened. We also went during Food and Wine so they were setting everything up and we could see the menus and decide which ones we wanted to go to and what to eat!

I did a Segway tour last summer, and LOVED it!! It was neat learning about the machine, and it was another bonus seeing World Showcase before it officially opened. I definately reccomend it!!

I just signed up today for a 2hr Segway tour on Nov 14th - (day after my 50th bday)

My husband just did this for the second time and LOVES it. He asked the tour guide / trainer about the "off-road" version of the tour and was told that should start this June. The rumor was that it would be at Fort Wilderness. I'm not sure if this part is correct, but it would be nice to not use a day's park ticket and do this one your "day off".....while the wife gets a massage and pedicure ;-)

Can anyone provide more information about the off-road version? My wife and I will be at Disney without the kids June 26 - 30. We would love to do this.

...myself and four family members. Two of us had done it before, with the older transporter. The new steering yoke makes it even better than before! We all had a great time, although your calves may get tired from the constant micro adjustments your body makes as you ride. IMO, it is one of the best tours available at WDW, and I will be doing it again, especially if they start using the off-road model.

BTW - this was our first time at thier new dedicated Segway training area in Innoventions West. Much better than the old "closet" they stuck us in the first time.

How much fun was the "column slalom" in Italy? Can't wait to do it again!

These Segway tours are the best! we did the 1 hour. Our teacher was Lamont - he is awesome!:cool1:

We also did the tour on a recent visit to Tucson where the tour was 9-12 all over the down town area. Our next disney trip is a short weekender - but on our next longer trip - we want to do it again! The off roader at Fort Wilderness sounds super cool - we will be watching for that!

I highly encourage anyone thinking about doing this to do it! I was not sure I would like it - booked it for DH originally - but I had a real blast!

We loved the Around the World Segway tour and will definitely do it again. It's something we recommend to anyone who asks about something different to do at Disney. I certainly agree that the instructors are wonderful and very patient. There was one person in the group who was having a little trouble and they were really good to help and encourage him. Before the instructional hour was over, he had things under control and did very well on the rest of the tour.

What are the age limits?
We are staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins and my son  would love something like this. Dad and son could have some bonding time:hug: . Of course, I realize that my DD's wouldn't be old enough yet. Guess that leaves me out too :sad2: .

27 days until Disney:dance3:

16 is the age limit on the Segway tours, 250 pounds. The FW version is supposed to be in a test phase.

Where would I get some more information about these tours? Such as the prices? They sound really fun!

I'd like to do the off road segway - how far in advance do you need to book and where - thank you for your replies.

Call 407-WDW-TOUR. I don't know how far in advance, but the tour is only through part of August right now as a test (hopefully they will extend it, there has been great interest!) Since Friday I've had like 700 people look at my tour pics.

We did the tour in Feb. and I think it was about $82 before our AP discount. DH really liked it, but I was a little disappointed. I thought we would learn more about the countries than just 1 or 2 trivial facts, and I didn't like having to ride around like ducks in a row. (We had to stay in a single file line and "follow the leader" between each country.) I would have liked to be able to spread out a little more.

They even said that people don't take the tour to learn about the countries, they take it just to ride the segways. I personally really wanted to learn more. If I just wanted to ride the segways, I could do that in Chicago and not go all the way to WDW.
