Seems like the later WOC times may be less crowded...

especially the 11:15 one. If they still offered that a year from now (I know, who knows what'll happen a year fromnow)... what would be the downside other than being up later?

Seems like if we took a mid day break and knew we would sleep inthe next morning (ie: make it our last day event) it wouldn't be so bad. Then I wouldn't have to worry about losing early morning touring time waiting for FPs since it sounds like the late show FPs are available later inthe day?

Just curious if there is something I'm not catching that would be a reason not to do this. My girls will be 9 and 11 by then.

There were FP's available for 11:15 at 5 pm on Sunday the 8th - so it's feasible. The only thing I'd really be worried about is if there will still be an 11:15 show next year - otherwise your plan makes sense to me.

I don't know about a year from now, but last Friday night we had blue section FP for the 11:15 pm WoC. We were located at the railing to the left (when looking at the water) and above of the center circle (one level below the VIP area) and where we were there was only one row of people behind us. It was pretty easy to move around. The areas below us looked fuller, but there were spaces in the back of all areas except for the first level (nearest to the water).

I wondered if they let non-FP see the show at that point because there were obviously plenty of spaces!

Sure, things could change a lot in a year. I'll do my serious planning next spring. lol I was just thinking that I hate to lose early morning time waiting for a FP when we could just go to a later show. Takes some stress of the planner... aka me.

Assuming there are 3 shows nightly during your trip, the main disadvantage would be hearing/maybe seeing the show before your show starts. I don't consider that a real problem but some others do.

The only other disadvantage I could think of is if for some reason you wanted to stay in Disneyland after midnight (hanging out on Main Street and/or getting in one last line shortly before midnight). I'm not absolutely certain you could get from WoC and into Disneyland before midnight. Realistically that shouldn't be any sort of problem, though, unless you are extreme night owls or maybe are doing a one- or two-day trip and need every last second to count.

We just saw the 11:15 show last night. LOVED it! We watched as the 10:15 show were crammed together walking to get out while we were waiting to get in. When we walked out, sure there was alot of people, but we had plenty of room to walk and maneuver....alot more doable. We just made sure to take a nap today.

Today (Tuesday) they were still giving out FPs to the 11:15 show when we left the park to go into Grand Californian at after 8 pm!

When we got our FPs to the 11:15 show on Monday night, there was no line and we had to keep coming back so we could get the red section. The castmembers there were so nice in telling us how many passes were left and we happened to stop by just as it turned over to red. It was a very positive experience and those that were around us were very polite and nice. We all had such a great time.
I know its a late night, but all of the other advantages totally outweigh it for us. No FP line, better control of what section we're in and where we stand, less crowds in and out.

The ONLY thing that made me VERY mad, is the Grand Californian dont allow their hotel guests to enter through the Californian Adventures entrance. After a long and late night, I was very mad to walk ALL the way around to use the DTD entrance.

We were at the 11:15 show last Friday night. We walked out of DCA a few minutes after midnight and could see people still entering DL. I don't think any of the rides were open, but you could still shop on Main Street until 1 AM.

I am not sure if this is misworded or not. :confused3 You are staying at the GCH and they would not let you use the special entrance/exit after WOC? Or they closed the special entrance/exit and made hotel guests walk all the way around to their rooms?

If the former, then your experience was different from mine. I saw the 11:15 WOC one night in late July and there was no problem using the special exit to get back to my room. In fact, I looked at my watch when WOC ended and I started to walk out of the yellow viewing area and it was 11:41PM. I was in my room by 11:46PM after doing a short power walk. I remember thinking how cool that was. :)
