Hey everyone!

So, I'm going down to Disney on the 16th of January, since I check in for the College Program on the 18th. I'm staying with two other friends, and we're staying in Pop Century before we can check in to our apartments. On the 17th, we have ADRs for 1900 Park Fare so we can watch Wishes from the Grand Floridian.

My question is, does anyone have any recommendations for where we should go the 16th? We won't have access to the parks yet, so it'd need to be in DTD or in the Resorts. And unfortunately, I have no idea what places are good that aren't in the parks. I know they're out there, but I'm just a little lost! :confused3

My favorite non-park restaurants are Kona Cafe and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Yachtsman is expensive though, so Kona would probably be a better choice. Other non-park restaurants that are popular are Ohanas, Whispering Canyon, Cape May and Chef Mickey.

I think it depends on what you like to eat and how much you want to spend. Wolfgang Puck Express (counter service) it really great. They serve pizza, pasta and sandwiches. Another favorite is Earl of Sandwich. If you are on a budget, then this is the place and the sandwiches are tremendous - they use some kind of fresh baked bread that is extraordinary. If you are looking for a table service restaurant, I recommend Raglan Road. If you are looking for something really fun - try Rain forest Cafe or T-Rex, both are popluar so you may need to wait. If you go to Allears.net, you can pull up menus for all the restaurants and DTD! Having fun planning.

I would definitely head to Raglan Road in Downtown Disney! The food is great, and they have live music. It's traditional Irish pub style, and they even have a girl that comes out and does the river dance thing. Very fun, lively and a great way to kick start your vacation! We are going in December and heading there straight away :)

There are some awesome choices at the Swan and Dolphin!!

Kimono's - Awesome sushi and turns into a karaoke bar at night
Bluezoo - Best seafood in WDW
Shula's - awesome steaks
Il Mulino - fantastic Italian food

Ooh these all sound awesome! Raglan Road especially sounds awesome. I got on AllEars and checked out the menu and I'm excited to try some of their stuff! I lived in the UK for a while, so I'd be able to get some old favorites. :)

THank you all for your recommendations!
