Tad emberassed to ask, but family are heading down in less than 2 weeks ~ :cool1: , where I haven't been in over 25 yrs and my partner never (2 of 3 kids went a couple years back with their dad - yes a blended family!)

Anyway I have told and enlisted the 3 kids :grouphug: to the fact that I'm proposing to my lady :bride: down in Disneyland who are gleefully wanting to help. Thus my question or search, is ideas where would be a nifty place to do this?

love your thoughts

I also agree with Snow Whites wishing well.

But also as a woman myself and loving excitement and surprise I would also enjoy a proposal right infront of the Castle as publc display of love.

If you do the castle thing make sure you are right infront and grab a cast member with a camera and have them capture the moment on film in pictures for you and it would also be beautiful if you got down on 1 knee!

Anyhow Congrats!!! What a wonderful place to get engaged and have that memory.

When you get back from your trip if you have time a trip report would be great. I know I for one would love to read it! If you do post a trip report put the link on this thread right here so we know how to get to it!

Best wishes and have a wonderful and magical vacation!

When we were there a couple of weeks ago, we saw someone proposing right on Main Street in the plaza by the flag pole (as soon as you walk under the train track bridges and down main street. They had a photographer there to take pics which was really special (maybe one of the kids can find a photog for you secretly to be there when the time is right).

I personally think that sometime really magical like the fireworks would be magical and romantic or maybe at something fun like at a character breakfast with all the characters around (here again maybe the kids could help you out by informing the CMs around and asking if they could do something special for you.) If you do decide to propose at a restaurant I would definitely try to call the restaurant directly and ask about what they can do to help you out... (like putting the ring in a dessert or something. )

Please let us know how it turns out! Good luck!

I personally love the little courtyard in NOS where the staircase (to nowhere a guest can go) is. Courtyard of Angels, or something like that.

That said, it's small and everyone else in the universe loves it too, so it's hard to find it empty, in my experience.

Definitely snag a photopass photographer to capture the moment. :)

Oh ya, grab the photographer as soon as you can. My favorite choices would be the Wishing Well, the front of the castle (you'd probably want to do that first thing so less people are around) or the Club 33 staircase. In that order actually. :) One of the members here was proposed to on HM, that would be neat but no photographer there. :)
Congrats to you both!!

A guy I work with proposed by the Snow White wishing well , I htin that is soooo romantic:lovestruc I think of it everythime we are there
Makes DH sick :rotfl2: , hey he makes up for lack of romanctic actions in trips to DL!
Go get the bride and groom Mickey ears after!
Good luck , she sounds like a lucky lady!

I agree... i think anywhere around the castle would be nice! They tons of Nice gardened walk ways around the castle or in front or even by the well :lmao: ! If you ask me anywhere is nice to be purposed too :lovestruc ..... But i find the castle areas to be most romantic! Good luck and i'm sure it will turn our great no matter where or how you ask! You know what would be really cool.... If you could work it out so mickey and minnie were there! That would just be awsome.... Who knows you'll be at DL so theres always magic! :wizard:

If you can go to guest services when you get to the park, they can help you put together something great. They can give you a lot of ideas and they are willing to help. It depends on which cast member you get at the desk and how much time they have to help you, but sometimes they can get her favorite character to help or something like that.

If you call ahead they can give you ideas, but they can't really help. It really is best to actually go talk to them on that day, I can guarantee they will be thrilled to help! (haha, try for a female at the help desk) Good Luck!

I say skip the standard "everybody does it" places like the wishing well and the staircase and go for something personal. Her favorite ride or in front of her favorite character. I mean, just think about taking her to snap a picture with Pooh Bear and pulling out a ring while someone else man's the camera! Make it personal. :)

Ahhhhhhhh!
I vote for the Castle or Snow White Wishing Well or during the Fireworks....
Maybe not original, BUT oh SO ROMANTIC!!!!!

Congratulations...How wonderful that she has found her Prince Charming and you your princess!!!!

May you live Happily Ever After!!!!!! :grouphug:

Oh and :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 for including the kids!!!

Love the suggestions, especially ensuring getting a photopass photo! a must that will involve the kids. :thanks:
Will admit going to have to find these places mention (ie wishing well), so I will have to quitely search out on 1st day so that I can do one last with the kids to see what may be best (to me, to her and the kids) and make it happen the next day!

Also will admit torn from planning something or having it on me and waiting for that spontaneous moment!

will do will do, but figuring does give a real good reason to get to DL more often ..hmmm:rolleyes1 (not that I'll admit that ..oops)

There's actually a really cute story of a guy enlisting a Dream Squad member to help him set up the perfect moment over in one of the WDW YOMD threads (it's at the bottom of the page). You might want to try to do the same if you can.

I second this! They can help make sure you get a photographer, etc. to capture the moment!

my favorite place would be the castle at night, the wishing well during the day, or NOS at night or day.

But i would definitely want photos!!

Thanks for the re-direct. like the idea for sure and worth a check, but in some ways I wouldn't want to take them away from doing their magic to others around the park, as to me, this trip already has a smile on my face, and I've not even there yet. :)
