seeking comfort food

Just got home from ortho doc. DH went too. I have knee pain, DH is leg pain. Brother was there too with back pain.
No way was I prepared to hear that DH needs hip replacement and brother needs back surgery. This is 3rd major surgery for DH in as many years. I am looking to turn to food for consoling, but can't tonight as I have lab test in a.m.--get to drink that chalk stuff.
I will be truly trying to not turn to comfort food, but don't know if there is strength left just now.

I just have a boo boo knee and feel like such a baby.

You're not a baby, sweetie. I have old knees and use much worse words than "boo boo" when I refer to them.

I sure hope you can avoid those comfort foods. For one thing they will mess up that lab test tomorrow (don't you just hate that chalky stuff?)

Hang in there. I hope your test shows good results and I'm sorry that your dh has to have another surgery. Bless his heart.

Knee pain is a real boo-hoo, plus with everything else going on you are under a lot of stress. Just being able to recognize it will help you resist the comfort food I think.

(I had a day yesterday when all I wanted to do was go to McDonalds and eat a huge burger and fries with a chocolate shake. There was a heard of deer in our back yard, which is closed in on three sides. They heard a noise and panicked and bounced themselves off the fence repeatedly. It was an awful scene. They finally all managed to run the correct direction to get out except one, who either injured herself on a post or got stepped on by the others (the only mark was a little cut on her head) Thank goodness God took her quickly. Anyway, I know a lot of people will say that's nature, but it *&%^@#.
I managed not to eat crap all day, but I was a mess. It was a real test.)
