I am planning our first family trip to Disney and we are staying at POR. Should we plan to go to the parks on the Late Openings days? I have heard that those parks have alot more people in them on those days because everyone goes there to take advantage of the Late Openings. I am trying to plan my ADR's so I would like to have a plan on which days I am going to which parks. I am wondering what kind of crowds to expect August 19- 26.

I would tell you to avoid those EMH. However the week that your going the crowds are going to be dying down and you may not have as many problems with EMH.

We were in WDW during that time in 2004-I didn't think the crowds were that bad-we got to the parks when they opened to ride the most popular rides and really didn't have long waits. Even if we went back to the parks late afternoon we were able to do or see what we wanted. It was very hot, of course, which is why we went early and returned later. My daughter and her husband visited the same time last year and although they didn't think the crowds were terrible, they said the parks doing late closings seemed more crowded because you no longer paid the extra $10.00 in addition to staying in a Disney resort.
Have a great trip!
