It's been a looooong time since I felt so "new" at something! I'm a long-time (decades) WDW fan...DVC owner...generally get there 3-4 times each year...am soooo familiar w/Disney (resorts & parks & "other")...
This trip, tho (thanks to adventurous friends I'm traveling with--left to my own devices, I'd never leave Disney!), we're going to do 2 days at US/IoA and stay overnight (to get FOTL passes) one night...
Now, am looking for advice/tips/input...we're currently trying to decide between taking Mears shuttle from Disney (OKW) to US/IoA or renting a car.
My friends will be "giving up" their OKW room, but I will keep mine...so they can move most of their luggage into my room and just take an overnight backpack w/them to US (our room is at the Royal Pacific and I'm on the reservation, along w/my adult friend and her two teenagers)...I plan to go back to OKW at the end of our day, and then meet them again early in the morning of day 2...
We have 2-day/both-parks passes. We know we want to go to Harry Potter first thing Wed morning...but what we do Tuesday (we are planning on an early arrival) and/or Wed after Harry Potter (and before returning to OKW, where my friends have a new reservation starting Wed night) is still open for discussion...
Advice? They seem to think I will "tell them" what's best (which I can and do do w/respect to Disney...but I really don't know anything other than what I read here about US/IoA)...would love suggestions for lunch & dinner; "must-not-miss" recommendations; tips on timing and what to avoid/make sure to do...and input on the transportation issues would be most welcome, too...
