SEE!! This is why I DON'T ask my SIL!!

As someone who works in a public school, we already have next year's schedule. You might call the school district. Sometimes the website is NOT the first place that gets the info out there. Also, teachers are always complaining about students missing school for family vacations. Most schools really frown on it. Better to plan around school.
That said, you are such a good auntie to do this for your nieces! And your SIL is B****!! It was the right thing to do - to get permission from the girl's parents, but you think she would have kept her mouth shut!

Sorry Serena, you can go after me.

Ok Heidi, fair enough, the girls can all go before me. And I guess  Tamie can go before me too. Packed by 2010, yep, think I can manage it. :teeth:

You are right Brermom..... I don't think a solid written schedule is available, but I would think they would know when Spring Break is..... maybe?? It's okay if we have to wait a bit..... now that I know she wants to go, and it's worth the hassle.

Minniecarousel - I don't have any plans to take her unless she is off school (unless it involved only one or two days at the most). Not only does the school frown upon it, but Britt is a straight A student working hard to keep that status. High school really marks the start of her setup for college, and I have no intentions of jeopardizing that. I know how important it was to me. Keeping her mouth shut..... you would think that would have been a given. Sheesh! We've run across this before (in a different situation), which is why I was sincerely hoping I could avoid telling her ahead of time. Oh well!

Oh, and yes Serena..... that would be 2011. And all this (Debster, you too!) hinges on the fact that my brothers are done creating offspring.... otherwise, you will be bumped again. :o

I teach in a public school and I always have to wait for the calendar to see when spring break is. Our calendar for 2003/2004 hasn't been negotiated yet.

I missed that she was going to be in high school. She'll be happier, and less stressed, if she misses as little school as possible, regardless of school policy. It's really hard for them to catch up because so much material is covered in a day.
