Should I schedule to see events when I know it is that park's EMHs?? For example, (I am going in Dec) should I:

See Fantasmic during extra evening hours at MGM? Or schedule it when it is another park's evening EMH to avoid extra crowds?

The same is true for Illuminations at Epcot and character breakfasts (I was thinking about doing a late character breakfast at MK during its morning EMH.

The seems to be conflicting opinions about to stay away or use the EMHs. Any advice would be appreciated!

I say use EMH. We always do. Sometimes we accomplish more in the evening EMH's than we do the WHOLE day! We've never had a bad experience with them. I don't know about mornings though, we stay for the late EMH's and sleep late in the mornings. lol!

Yes, you will get conflicting opinions on this subject. I'm not sure if there is any right or wrong answer about emh. We tend to stay away from a particular park if it has emh and it has worked out well for us, but there are some who love emh & it works for them.

Just depends on what the crowds are luck. We have had luck good and bad w/ staying for EMH and running away to another park.

Particularly w/ the 2 examples you mentioned Epcot EMH won't effect crowd for Illuminations, it will absolutely still be packed. I've never notice a difference in that crowd EMH or not.

Our experience w/ Fantasmic has been the opposite, on EMH nights at DS the 2nd showing of Fantasmic seems to be more crowded also on those nights the que are for Fantasmic is packed early and if in the summer its unbearably hot as you are waiting in a no-breeze area w/ lots and lost of people. If there are 2 showings on non EMH night the crowd for 2nd show is noticebly less in our experience. If there is only 1 showing of Fantasmic we have noticed that there is about the same # of people for Fantasmic.

As far as overall EMH for us has been a good thing. We love being in the parks super late but only in the closing hour or so of EMH does it seem to really pay off w/ no lines at all. If you can hang in there w/ no melt downs or crankiness for the 1am and 2am closings w/ EMH its a great experience. If it's one of the earlier EMH's odds are everyone else at the resort will be there with you too.

additional note: EMH at AK is a big fat waste of time even if u love EMH's. There are few rides available and usually only 1 showing of FOTLK and Nemo and they both run close together so its impossible to catch both.
