Security Tag from World of Disney

On our recent trip to WDW, my DH bought a pair of pajama pants at World of Disney. Got them home, and the security tag was still on! Frustrating!

I tried to bring them to the Disney store (just a thought) and they do not have the same type of security tag system. So, any ideas on how to get this off? Anyone have this happen? The Disney Store people said people come in often with this happening! Do you know what other retailer might have the same kind of tags? Thanks for any suggestions/help.
 
My only suggestion is to send it back to Disney to have it removed. They would probably be willing to pay the shipping. Their mistake.
 
I would call WDW merchandising and let them know, they should be able to tell you what to do!

In the past I've read posts where people took the garments to JC Penney. Apparently, they use the same tagging system as WDW. This was probably from a few years ago so things might have changed. Make sure you take the receipt with you to prove you paid for it.

Otherwise, call the phone number on your receipt and ask them how to handle it. You should be able to ship it back and have the tag removed.
 
The most cost effective and customer service friendly way for Disney to handle the situation is to ship you the same pajamas in the same size without a security tag and include in the box a prepaid return label for you to send the tagged pajamas back. That way you have you clothing sooner then sending them the pajamas to have the tag removed and shipped back.

I am not sure if this is how they will do it but perhaps when you talk to them you can suggest it. They may require you give them your credit card info incase you don't ship them pajamas back but since I'm sure you would it shouldn't be an issue.
 
Last year I had this happen...I purchased a Mickey baseball hat (child) & didn't realize the security tag was still there. I called the store where I purchased it & they told me to send it back & they would replace it. I told my brother-in-law about the hat & he said he could get it off-so I ended up not sending it back. I knew what store I purchased it (WL) and called them directly. I knew it was a young kid & the time, day-etc they were very nice about it.
 
All good suggestions. I think I will call and find out what they say I should do. FireDancer is right, they should send me the merchandise and I will send back, so I will suggest that. It isn't the normal rectangular tag with rounded pyramid, it is round with a safari-hat shaped attachment...and it says it is the ink kind, so I would rather not attempt it!

We had the same thing happen with 2 Dress shirts DH bought at the Boardwalk gift shop. I put the shirts in our deep freezer for 2 days and tried to break the ink tags as seen on the internet - BAD IDEA.

One of the shirts I got the ink out of, right away, after washing it 3 times in a row but the other one was ruined. I would not recommend doing this - send them back and let them mail them back to you.

I also went to the Disney Store at my mall and they didn't have the right machine to remove the tag.

Are you sure your husband can't get it off?

Good wire cutters will pop it right off. My husband has had to do this twice for me, now. Or that Google link, is a good one.
