security on monorail

I heard a rumor that you now have to go through some sort of security or bag check to get on the monorait at WDW. Is this true?

Yes you do. They have bag check there instead of going through at MK.

So you can then skip the bag check at the Park entrance?

Best to allow a bit extra time if you have set plans as when we got on it was taking a while to get everyone through extra security.

Only at MK. The main bag check has been moved out to TTC. At the MK entrance, there are only smaller bag checks where the resort boats and buses unload.

Unfortunately, if traveling to Epcot by monorail, you will have to go thru bag check again at the park entrance. But you don't have to go thru bag check when exiting Epcot directly to the monorail entrance.
