We are out of the stroller stage, thank goodness. My wife takes the only bag to security check while the rest of us pass through the 'no bags to check' area. Of course we then have to wait for her but she's a pusher and a runner so we can move close to the gate and she will find us....

I'm thinking a lot of the wait could be reduced by announcements to have all zippers open, including inside pockets, so people are ready for the bag checks when the reach the front of the line.

But if people persist on approaching the front with closed bags with a dozen inside pockets that are still zipped shut, I'm not sure what security can do except ask people to open them. Just letting people through with uninspected bags doesn't seem like a particularly good plan to me.

Fortunately our kids are adults now so no need for bags. Everything goes in the pockets. Good to see security being taken seriously at the parks.

First off, I feel like that's a few too many syllables for a haiku.

As far as security, I'm okay with Disney making sure it's guests are safe. I'd have to think WDW is a pretty big target if someone wanted to do carry out a nefarious act. Do I want to stand in lines..no. But I plan for them and take it as a trade off: 10 minute = me and my family are safe.

Agree with this. A sign that says bags need to be off your person with all zippers open may help. Or even someone walking through the line at the busiest times announcing the same. TSA does this during the busiest times at the airport to help streamline the process. I feel like that process sometimes goes faster and is more consistent than bag checks at WDW!
