I have never seen any security cameras in the Beach Club, Boardwalk, GF, Wilderness Lodge and the Poly. I am referring to the lobby areas, any of the restaurants, or the hallways of the hotel. I know they must have them, and I am assuming that WDW has discreetly hidden the cameras so that they are not visible. Can anyone confirm this, or otherwise offer some clarification on this which is a mystery to me.

I have never really looked for cameras at wdw, as I am not a criminal trying to scout out were to pull my next gig ;)

I have seen some but like I said I have never really looked but I am sure they are all around

I can confirm there are very few spots that are not being watched by the eyes in the sky. And I mean very few.

I am always amazed how some posters always think the worst of someone or something when it comes to WDW.
No, I am not a criminal. I am just intrigued by how cleverly WDW has hidden their security cameras from public view.
Please don't read anything sinister into my question.

Cameras are in trees, in light poles, on top of buildings, in the gates entering the resorts to read license plates. And as @WEDWDW states...there are many lightning rods, especially at the parks.

I'm not thinking the worst of you. It is a fact that one of the first thing security looks for in any public place is someone looking for cameras. Just trying to give you a heads up that if security spots you looking around, checking for cameras, you may get some unwanted attention. I didn't say you were a criminal.

Visible cameras don't create a relaxing atmosphere. Disney uses quality cameras that have 300x - 400x that can be mounted a great distance away and can zoom in to read text on your phone....Today's technology is amazing

Fwiw, I wasn't saying you are/were a criminal. I was just being a wise guy/serious too, that I have not seen them because I am not looking specifically for them

Considering how small cameras are now, I am not one bit surprised you haven't seen them. My company I work for installs surveillance cameras for municipalities so I am very aware how small and hidden they are made to be.

They say there's many, and quite a group of undercover people working the parks.. personally I Like knowing there is security, and bag checks and whatever else they deem necessary. A few minutes of my time to feel/be safer.. works for me..

Last week, I watched 3 SUV (6 guys) pass through the bus lanes and head over toward the Poly. When I arrived at the Poly, my wife noticed an increase in uniformed security. Who knows how many plain clothed security was present. I'm not sure why but Disney security is very good.

I think the intention was to say what I say in my normal job as an accountant and trying to stop people from cheating. If you don't know how to "cheat" (do something illegal), then you don't know how to fix it. So Disney knows how people will look for security cameras and find ways to hide them and, obviously, don't want people to know how or where they hide them. My husband and I walk around Disney World all the time joking about throwing things on the ground but the "Disney Police!" will see us and we'll be thrown out.
