Securing BLT sliders

I know this has been asked before and I apologize but my search is not yielding this question. Will BLT provide some sort of device to secure the sliding glass doors? We have stayed twice before and my boys easily popped the locks on the doors. My concern is that my children are developmentally disabled and we also are traveling with a quick 3 year old and are terrified that the worst could happen if we look away for a split second. Thanks in advance.

Not that I am aware of. Isn't there a high second lock, most resort rooms have a second lock high on the door?

I would suggest you try to bring something with you. You can get travel sliding door locks and even alarms.

I have seen them at Lowe's.

They can pop both locks? Have you checked to make sure they really work, sometimes we found they don't and when we call maintenance they come real quick when they hear about the lock problem and kids in the room.

When we stayed at BLT about 4 yrs ago, I noticed that the sofa sleeper was on those plastic furniture moving disks. I thought it was so housekeeping could move it easier, then I wondered if someone brought them down to move the sofa sleeper in front of the balcony door? Interesting! You might want to think about doing that. Home Depot and Lowes sell them less than $10.00 for a set of 4 small and 4 large!

Yes - call maintenance services. Someone came to our room and "permanently" locked the slider in the master bedroom of our 2 bed villa (only time DS would be alone with access to a balcony would be napping/sleeping in that room). NOTE: no one will be able to open the door for the duration of your stay. Maintenance will remove the device at the end of your reservation. He said they get this request a lot, but will only lock the door if specifically requested. I.e. - they won't offer it.

Technically we called and said we couldn't figure out how to operate the locks. While he was there showing us, I asked about locking it. You might get a better response that way than just calling mouse keeping and asking for the door to be locked.
