Thank you for everyone's welcome messages!!!

So, about us and how we met: My DF and I met about 2.5 years ago when we were both in post graduate programs... I was doing a fellowship, my DF was in his second year of his residency. My DF claims that I practically ignored him for months, but I definitely noticed him. It just took him FOREVER to ask me out. FINALLY after I flirted with him endlessly, he got up the courage and asked me out during the VERY last week of his rotation. I was so excited! Our first date we went to an italian restaurant/bowling alley.... he thought I hated him and ran away without even hugging me good night. :confused3 So, I wasn't sure what to think. Our next "date" consisted of McDonald's at the hospital while we both did paperwork. But the good news is that date ended a better note, after I was slightly more proactive  I asked him if he wanted a ride to his car because it was cold... and he said no. And I was thinking, either he doesn't get it or he doesn't like me. So I asked again, saying it was REALLY COLD OUT!!! So, he finally got in and we ended up hanging out in the car until the wee hours in the morning!!! We've been going strong since!!!!

oh boys... they can't see nething until it's right under their nose... especially when it comes to girls... my DBF had no clue of my "intentions" until i flat out told him... that was 3 months after i first started flirting... good thing us girls know how to get our guys! haha:rotfl2:

Welcome secretdisbride!! Congratulations on everything! What is your fellowship in? Is your future hubby going to specialize? I'm hoping to go to med school or PA school (haven't weighed out all the pros and cons yet) in 2010. :)

Good luck as you figure out what you want to do for graduate school... it's definitely good to take time to think about things, and I am a huge fan of pros/cons lists!!!

So, I am a psychologist and my DF is a psychiatrist...
So many jokes there... and trust me, I've heard them all. :rotfl2:
Seriously though, we've already started a therapy fund for any future children we may have. :)

Oh, so funny! I thought by the residency/fellowship you were referring to medicine. I truly didn't realize psychology had fellowships! At least you have a lot of potential for future businesses! Do you want to open a private practice together?

CONGRATS!!!

Our planner is Carol too... You'll love her... she's a hoot :)

I can't wait to meet her!!! We're going for our planning session May 9th! I am SOOO excited. We've basically only exchanged e-mails, but she has been Super helpful and wonderful!!! And she has been so nice to my mother.... my mom has nick named her tinkerbell :goodvibes

About the dress: Several years ago (not long after my DF and I started dating), I was in J Crew with my mom and we were playing with their party dresses (they were piloting the party dreses at the J Crew in King of Prussia, PA) and I tried on this beautiful linen dress (called Joanna) and I loved it. And my mom said I should get it because one day I'll need one :) We went back and forth and I was like "Um, no." Because I felt like that would be really bad karma, so I didn't. Then when I got engaged, I really wanted that specific dress; so of course J Crew didn't carry it anymore. So I looked and looked and FINALLY found it on Ebay for $79!!!!! So yeah! Have a dress!

Or so I thought....

I mean, I had the dress. So I tried it on. Perfect. Looked in the mirror. Problem was readily apparent... and not sure how I didn't notice it previously, but there was a cleavage problem. I mean, a MAJOR cleavage problem. I mean not outrageous for like going out to a bar, but definitely not cool for my own wedding. At least not for the whole getting married part. So... now.... I'm thinking... what does one do?

Fast forward to a last minute trip to DC for a job interview.... it didn't go well, I didn't get the job, and that was obvious. So, my MOH and I did the obvious thing, and went DRINKING. So we happen to pull up to park right in front of a bridal salon. Seriously, this wasn't planned. It was like kismet. We walked in because we were early for meeting some other friends, and we looked around. We both saw this BEAUTIFUL dress, and the saleswomen said it just arrived from the designer that afternoon..... it was perfect. And so I tried it on, and I fit the sample size PERFECTLY. So I did the next logical thing... I waited four days (so as not to be impulsive) and then bought it!!!! I kind of thought: the job interview sucked, so the dress must have been the reason I went to DC!!

My DF doesn't know about the new dress, and frankly, it's better that way. I think he liked the entire idea that I got my dress of Ebay... better to tell him after he sees me in it the day of the wedding!!!! ;)

Not sure how to post a picture yet, but when I do, I promise to post a picture!!!

Off to have dinner!!!
